Photos from that far back are rare and have historical value. Share with the Library of Congress. Make a
blurb book with the images for your family. Amazing. I'd love to see them

Hi Larry, While struggling with the same thought processes as you and others, I've come to the conclusion that that taking, sharing, and occasionally reviewing my photos has given me enormous pleasure over the years which was the purpose of the hobby, at least for me. I've come to terms with fact that for the most part I took photos for my pleasure, enjoying every minute, and trying to get better each time I picked up my equipment.

Hi, I've struggled with the same issues. I have thousands of photos that have no significance to my children or anyone else. However my brother and I have, over the years digitized two and a half generations of photos of maternal and fraternal families. Fortunately one of my sons and a few cousins are interested in family history and these would be of value to them. The rest ….. probably garbage and will be lost in the cloud after I am gone. They would be of no interest, most likely to anyone else.
You on the other hand you seem to have photos of historical significance that I bet the Library of congress would be interested in. I am not sure, but I bet they would take them digitized or prints, especially if you are able to provide captions. If you've never been to their website, take a look...…

Good for you. My wife would divorce me if I carried all that stuff around. I like to take my camera and lenses wherever I go even if its a trip to the city. Never know what one might miss, and it's always a source of arguments. I traded my 7D Canon and some L series glass for a canon M50. I am 71, and I do admit my gear was getting heavy for me and I consider myself in good shape. Just having bought the M50 it remains to be seen if I still get any flak from my wife. I guess her major complaint besides her belief that i'll hurt myself lugging my 7 D gear is that she feels alone when I am stopping every moment to take a picture. Unfortunately I can't get her interested in carrying her own camera. She happens to be very artistic and has a great eye for details. Such is life.

Make sure you are looking up. Some of the most beautiful aspects of the skyscrapers are way above eye level.

I've used Blurb many times and have been extremely happy with the results. I made sure I used a high grade paper. I am not that tech savvy but I found Blurb to be pretty straight forward and user friendly. My last book was a photo chronical of our trip to Paris. Every evening I wrote in a diary of what we did during the day, which I used when arranging the photos on the pages of the book. The diary allowed me to recall where and what the images were. I spent a lot of time arranging the text from my diary with the images the way I wanted. I only mention this because depending on how detailed you want the book to be the more time needs to be spent to get a quality photo story. It is very easy just to place a photo or photos on a page and move on to the next page. I hope this helps your decision.
