Gorgeous! Whatever the technique, I'd say it's a great one. This does pop!

Welcome to the UHH.
That's what I want to be when I grow up, proficient astrophotography. I've always been fascinated by the night sky. Too bad my corner of PA has so much light pollution.
When you say mountains of Pennsylvania, that could be a really big area. I'm guessing you don't have the light pollution problem there we have here. Again, welcome aboard.

Thank you, rmorrison1116!

We're not that high in the mountains so it could be darker, but everyone else we know who doesn't live out this far tells us we're in Nowheresville. Pretty dark, I think.

Nice image. Set Temp in Lightroom to the 3500 - 3600 range, will give you a nice blue-black sky. See att image which started with the same sky color in yours. Also, aggressive DeNoising works with star shots.

Thanks rgrenaderphoto! Your LR tips are so welcome - I haven't started Lightroom yet and can't wait to get into it. Thanks again for the tips. Your image looks wonderful!

Hi Everybody!
I've been reading a variety of posts for a long time now, ever since I signed up to receive the UH digest via email back in Nov of last year.
I know that I've learned quite a bit since then and want to take a sec to say "THANKS!" to all the posters on this forum for sharing their experiences.
I truly appreciate learning from y'all.

I used an Olympus automatic-everything camera for years and finally got fed-up with not being able to really focus on the part of the scene that I wanted to see close up. Especially with flower macros...taking dozens of photos to try and get a good one wastes a lot of time and computer space. So, a few years ago I acquired my first DSLR and have taken thousands of flower images with that Canon T4i, which I still enjoy and use as much as time allows. I've obtained telephoto, macro and most recently wide-angle lenses and am having great fun shooting and widening my horizons.

Astrophotography holds a lot of interest for me right now. I find it all very fascinating! I'd like to share my first best image of the Milky Way. Comments about what I did are on my blog (in signature) if you care to comment here on how to improve, I would love it!

Thanks for everything and good luck to all.
