Sure, Geoff ... that one's quite the Vista - with the viaduct all the way across, in the valley ... love it!

Thanks Chris, that's salved my curiosity.

My father was a builder (amongst other things);
he told me that the width plus the height of each step of stairs should
equal 22 inches.

I just had them re-done a couple of years, back, Abo ... they were far too steep for me - about 12" per ...

As I got older, I kept tripping on them. Also, I chose to have the far half made into a ramp - for my dog.

As HE got older, he was also having trouble with the steps - so, I took them out of the equation, for him.

Glad you like the pics, Abo ... you're very welcome ...

The G9 takes whatever size image I want to make it. The sensor is comparable to 110 film but viewing at 100% on my monitor only about 1/4 of it will fit. In most circumstances you would be hard pressed to find any real difference in IQ.

Oh, really? ... So, the next time I wish to make a mural - I should use the G9, then, should I, Fly?

Yes, but it been a while and they’re both bigger than my G9.

I should think SO, and all, Fly ... the G9 takes 110-film-sized images ...

The D7200 (along with my D7100, and D7000) are all APS-C designs, or as I like to say - DXI cameras.

Whilst the D500 is also - a DXI - its body is a good half-inch wider than the D7000 series cameras ...

Interesting note, here, though, Fly ... Sony decided to stay with the body size they developed for the a77 and its later upgrade - the a77 II, when they made the upgrade to the a99 FF design - the a99 II. So, you can transition very easily between the a77, the a77 II and the FF a99 II - as they're all the same body!!!

Sorry I got confused by the 77 reference. Still grieving too much about my FA77 to think clearly, apparently.

The Sony a77 and its later upgrade - the a77 II, along with the FF a99, and later upgrade - the a99 II (along with many lesser, and long-since-discontinued models) all are part of the Sony SLT (Single Lens Translucent) series of Sony alpha DSLRs. They all use a rather-inappropriately-named "translucent" fixed mirror design - rather than the articulating mirror design of conventional DSLRs. After Sony's Mirrorless MILC designs took off - Sony has not paid quite as much attention to its OTHER line of more conventional Interchangeable Lens Cameras, unfortunately. The a77 is now old hat, and the newer a77 II is swinging in the breeze, with no new upgrade in sight. I guess Sony is hanging its hat on the FF a99 II - which is approximately the same price as a Nikon D850. They also both have approximately the same MP, too. But, truth be known - the Sony is a far, far better product. It features built-in 5-axis stabilization, amongst a whole host of other features ....

Your also broke your FA 77??? Me too, recently, my favorite K-1 lens (actually drowned it and later broke it). Have it for sale for parts on ebay! ARRGH!

No, Wanderer - that was a ref. to the lens-cap for the 18-250 DT lens, for my alpha a77 - I broke, yesterday.

The full story - is at the post headed - Losing It! - a story of irony ...

BTW - my Pentax DSLR is the K-50 ... I also have a Pentax 6x7 MF Film Camera (eye-level) ....

I should think so. At least carrying the camera outdoors without a lens cap would seem to work.

Ah, well ... there you are, then, Bob - I didn't really NEED that cap for the a77, I broke, yesterday - after all!

From https://camerapedia.fandom.com,
"Radioactivity in lanthanum containing lenses is due to the intentional inclusion of thorium in the optical glass mix. The presence of thorium can sometimes, depending on the mixture of other elements in the lens, cause moderate to severe browning of the lens elements."

The browning can happen but can be cleared by exposing the lens to sunlight.

Thanks for that explanation, there, Bob ....

So, constant use, therefore - will eliminate this phenomenon, then?

A few years ago one of the retaining clip on the lens cap for the 18-140 lens on my D7200 popped out on it’s own, with no encouragement from being dropped or stepped on. I tried the gluing thing and it definitely held it back in place, but the darned thing didn’t work. So I went on Amazon and got one for cheap. Worked well until I sold the camera.

That's the thing, see, Greg ...

Putting glue on any part of the mechanism - will keep the spring action from working ...

Best solution is to get another lens cap, I guess ....

Perhaps I can offer a synopsis so others won’t waste precious minutes of their life with no hope of getting them back.

You shoveled snow from your steps. While trying to photograph your handiwork (similar to what millions of others did at the same time you did) you dropped and broke your lens cap. Then (I don’t recall the exact details because I fell asleep) somehow all turned out fine and all is well.

There's very little difference between the product of those two sensors, Toment ...

One of my bridges has a half-inch sensor ... and that makes it easy to tell the difference from the others!!!
