To think that she is probably a grandmother today. But, her beauty and vitality as a young woman are preserved forever in this photo.

Saturday Night - Evening Airshow. Amazing Stuff !!
My Dad was an Instructor Pilot at Sheppard AAB in 1944 - he flew the T6-Texan and helicopters.
I would have been a pilot as well - BUT in 1972 - with all the pilots returning from SEA, they needed electrical engineers more than new pilots. So, having an MSEE, I helped develop the GPS Then off to Medical School.
The Key to my success - stay one step ahead of the assignments board all the way
I had 26 years in the USAF (retiring as an O6 - Chief Flight Surgeon in the USAF) - then 10 Years with the FAA.
Now I stay busy traveling and spending my childrens inheritance
Take 1000 photos - 10-20 will be outstanding (no talent required )
Saturday Night - Evening Airshow. Amazing Stuff !!... (show quote)

I put eight years in the Air Force from building survival kits to being a Russian linguist. I’ve been to Oshkosh a few times and enjoyed the immersion in everything Aviation, from the warbirds to the homebuilt to the current GA planes that I absolutely cannot afford. The atmosphere is amazing with great camaraderie. I have now been a licensed pilot for over 50 years, and still get a thrill when the wheels leave the ground.

According to the statistics 11,000 aircraft were flown into Oshkosh for the event and 670,00 spectators attended. During the show, Oshkosh is by far the busiest airport in the world.

Over 90% of aircraft accidents are due to pilot error. It doesn’t matter if the aircraft was built yesterday or in the 1940’s. The antiques and warbirds are probably inspected more frequently and thoroughly than the average general aviation aircraft. However, anything mechanical can break, no matter how old.

Yesterday I read an opinion piece from a Seattle news site spewing condemnation on air show for the amount of air pollution they cause. The writer wants them banned to protect the planet.
This weekend is Seattle Harbor days and the Blue Angeles will be performing.

I guess we should ban NASCAR races, motocross, motorcycle races, 4-wheelers, boat races, etc. to protect the planet. Don’t forget all of the air pollution caused by the Macys’ July 4th fireworks.

I had two dogs from the same litter. They were half German Shepard Dog and half Rottweiler. They both had Rottie coloration, but the female was built like a German Shepard and the male was built like a Rottie. He maxed out at 125 pounds, but was the sweetest dog I had ever seen. The vet called him “the gentle giant.” His sister was as sweet, but very protective. She went after a couple of people she though were threats. I lost him when he blew out his ACL’s for the second time, and couldn’t walk, or eat or anything. At the time they were unfixable. He was in agony and we had to end his suffering. His sister lived another two years, and at age 11 died from lymphoma. There names were Bonnie & Clyde.

Be careful what you download or how you copy them to a PC. Either may end up going over as mp3's which happen to usually be a few bits shy of the 16 bits that is on the CD. If you want inferior copies or can no longer tell the difference then no problem but if quality audio is desired then you need the CDs or at least make sure that when you copy they are still 16 bit.

There is a software called Exact Audio Copy that will rip the CD’s into virtually any audio format, FLAC, MP3, WAV, etc. Since FLAC is lossless, but takes up much less space than WAV, that is the format I copy them to. I don’t bother with MP3 due to it in being lossy.

The cathedral of St. Augustine has some really impressive art and stained-glass. Enjoy! All of these were shot with my Coolpix P7000 @ ISO800, no flash.
