Rome, in my opinion, is the most beautiful city in the world. I worked there for two years in 1978/79 and fell in love with it. The major photo attractions have been already mentioned but don't overlook all the wonders in the back streets and alleys where you will stumble across a myriad of photo ops. Besides the obvious historic photo ops you will also find some incredible examples of modern architecture and other examples of fine Italian design. The neighborhood at the base of the Spanish Stairs is Rome's high-end shopping area when the likes of Gucci, Valentino, Armani, etc. have shops. Their storefronts are exquisitely designed ultra modern juxtaposed into 16th century buildings and are breathtaking; as are the people you will see in that neighborhood.

One of my favorite 'out-of-town' spots was Orvieto. It's a little medieval town sitting on top of a bluff, surrounded by vineyards, with a fabulous cathedral at it's center. You can get there by taking a fairly short train ride from Rome then it's walking distance (a few miles) from the train station.

Enjoy!

Several years ago I had a similar problem with my Epson however the problem with my printer was more due to it's age; I always used Epson ink. The solution I found was to remove and clean the print heads. I found the instructions on-line and figured it was worth a try. It wasn't that difficult a task and extended the life of the printer for another two years.

Try ZEISS lens wipes. Lovely little pre-moistened wipes packaged similar to condoms. A box of 50 is $2.97 at Walmart in the optics section. They are reusable but at that price why bother?

I just bought an Epson 1430 two weeks ago at Staples. They didn't have the absolute best price but it was in stock and my printer had just died so I didn't want to wait for shipping. I'm very happy with this printer and it's half (or more) the price of most other large format photo printers.

WOW! You would have thought there would be at least one photo of a joint in these diatribes.

Gillie suits are an effective camouflage if you're dealing with humans but when you desire to become invisible to nature the best camouflage is stealth. Just don't move, not even your eyelids, and you will not be seen. Clothing that blends with your background is very helpful, minimize bright spots (face, hands, camera, etc.) and just don't move. I speak as an X-Marine where my life depended on it and currently a hunter where my success depends on it. Enjoy!

Always an interesting debate. I'm a new member and this is my first 'reply'; it's also the first time I felt I had something to offer. My profession, architect, brought me to photography, and UHH, but similar debates have raged in the field of architecture. The first debate I was aware of was "do you design with a pencil or pen?" This seemingly ridiculous (at least to me) difference was the cause of many heated arguments, staff replacements, rejected concepts, etc. Then the computer and computer aided design and drafting (CADD) reared it's ugly head and the debate raged on.

After fifty plus years of listening to the arguments I have come to the opinion that humans are afraid of change and need some time to embrace that which they don't understand. Every time I hear that Ansel Adams used a big box camera I think, yes, but he did but he didn't have an option.
