The backlighting forming the Hogarth's curve made the image for me. The other elements are correct and important but the backlighting and curve made me stop, examine and comment.

I watched the whole series. That photography episode was very funny, especially the repetitive shots of the street in front of the store.

There was a funny scene in one episode when Tom and his family were looking for a new house in Midsomer. Tom said something like, "Why in the world would we want to buy a house here? There is a murder every week, and the people are the strangest I have ever encountered." (Or something to that effect)

We have commented that with several murders a week the small village would have been totally depopulated years ago.

Just watched Midsomer Murders - Picture of Innocence for the second time. Midsomer Murders is a long running British murder mystery. The Picture of Innocence episode centers around a two photography clubs, one digital and one film that encounter some of the digital/film differences that many of us have witnessed.
I was a little alarmed by how I saw some of myself in some of the characters. If you are a serious photographer and you do not see some of yourself in there, you are either rare or maybe you need to take another look.

Thank you, all. I will add my own..... just do it. We have, when travelling, sought out air charters but have never done it at home. Not smart, when we have some of the best fall colors nearby.

I like the "do not let camera / lens touch vibrating airplane" suggestions. We have a pontoon boat that has been the platform for many pictures. When I can, I always turn motor off to stop vibration.

The 28-300 isn't sharp enough for you? That's surprising since so many on UHH swear by it. I assume you were talking about a Nikon 28-300.

Olympus 28 - 300.

Thinking of chartering small plane and taking fall pictures from air. Do not want to be juggling lenses from seat of small plane. What focal length is best?

I have zoom lenses that cover from 18mm to 300mm full frame equivalent. One goes from 28 to 300 but does not produce the sharpest results. I am inclined to go for the 28 to 90.

What brand is the strap you are having the problem with? Would be good to know for future reference.

[PRO]Master. And it was probably better suited to point and shoot cameras. I was trying to keep the size down so it did not consume the whole camera bag.

I have just now returned for cash though I did see some inexpensive straps that seemed more robust and the clips were seriously stronger; had to squeeze quite hard to get them to open. I will probably be picking up one of those though it will not be compatible with the wrist strap.

Sounds like operator error to me. My quick release fittings work well.

Nope. It is repeatable. A gentle tug and it releases.

I just purchased a lighter weight camera strap to use with my Olympus OMD M-1 with 14 - 150 mm lens. The strap has two quick releases and I thought that would work well with swapping out the neck strap for my wrist strap which also has a quick release. Wellllll, the quick release was a little too quick. I picked up the camera with the strap and one of the releases released. Fortunately, I was grasping the strap and I did not drop the camera. The strap is going back to the store and I will be retiring the wrist strap with the quick release.

"I'm wondering, do you know why the rocks seem to be tied down?"

Not my picture but am somewhat familiar with area and I would love to tell you strong winds but the right answer would probably be that they are used for anchoring something on shore or in the water. In other words, things are tied to them.

I drive a plug in hybrid. The last time I put gas in it was March 5 and the tank is still half full. Don't care much about gas prices.
