I have the D7200 and am learning how to shoot night football. I was looking at the Sony A6500 and would need to get another lens. I have had a couple older Sony camera and thought they were very good. 2 fps was not good enough for football and cost was my biggest problem. On the D7200 the frames per second rate is 6. I wish I could have afforded a faster frame rate camera. The thing to know is you can do almost anything with the camera today, but not in AUTO mode. So decide what you want to do and if it is shooting football get the faster frame rate.
Hope this helps.
I shot my second game at night and tried 2 stops lower on the ISO, and did not have the difference in the frames as the first game. I am willing to try almost anything. Thanks for the help.
I appreciate all the responses. I know there are some basics that are common, for those who have been with it. I am trying.
Most of the people here seem very nice. And helpful.
Thank you for your reply. I am trying to learn more on digital photo to understand what I might need next to get.
Good expression in B&W. Very attractive.
Increditabel detail of the moon. What shutter speed did you use?
Is there anyplace to find out what some of these terms mean? Fast Glass, FF and some of the others?
I was expecting something like that, but they were good. GREY market is all around and not always known. That is the reason I bought the 5 year warranty. I did try Amazon, and after ordering I was informed the item was out of stock. 42nd Street does have good ratings now. And just like people, companies can change. I think some of the people had problems, but I was happy with what I got.
You are correct, there was no warranty card with the camera. But I did get a 5 year warranty through them for $99. Guess I will have to see what happens.
Thank you all so much for the information. Being new to this it helps to get others info.
I just purchased a Nikon D7200 and 55-200 lens from them Everything came as new and the best price I could find. I am very happy with them.
I finally got a new Nikon 7200 so I could take pictures of my grandson's football games. After some experiment I think I am close. I am using the Nikon 55-200mm, f 4-5.6 lens. Setting AF-C, shutter speed at 1/250 and ISO 25600, and the C H to take 6 fps. I am using a monopod to help stabilize the camera while I pan the plays. The problem is every other or 4th frame is darker than the rest. The games are at night and some of the pictures come out great. Included are 3 that are what I get.
I am new to Nikon and need to know if there is a problem with the camera, the lens, or my settings? Any help would be appreciated.

I started in film for many years, and then went to digital with a Sony DSLR (actually 2 different ones). I finaly got a Nikon and am amazed with all the buttons and different features it has. I have read a few of the articles on the site and find them interesting. There is a lot of information the people have hear. I am excited to get back into taking pictures and hope for some help with the new technology.
