The roads should be fine from Thursday's snow by now. It melts on the road pretty quickly this time of year. Of course, the weather up there, and in Durango, can change pretty fast. Layers are always good option for clothing.
Enjoy your stay! John

As a native Durangoan who still lives in Durango. It sounds like you are planning on driving the Alpine Loop, which is Durango,Silverton,Ouray,Telluride,Rico,Dolores,Cortez(Mesa Verde Maybe?) then back to Durango. With an overnight stop in Telluride? You will probably need to charge the Tesla in Telluride. I would check on availability for that. Durango only has one Tesla station, acccording to bing maps, Telluride shows one in the Mountain Village, none in downtown. There might be some E.A. stations you can use with an adaptor?
If you are doing this drive, I would skip the train ride, unless you really like slow smoky expensive trains.
I was hiking on Molas Pass(Above Silverton) last Sunday about 9500 feet. There is still a LOT of snow up there, and I heard Molas got another 10 inches on Thursday May 11th.
Here are some from my neck of the woods.

I carried a Pentax 110 Mini system in my motorcycle tank bag. It died back in the 80's. I now have a Pentax Q system that I carry when hiking. It's a lot lighter than my K-3mkIII or the K-1.
A quick trip to White Sands National Park this fall. One afternoon/evening and the next morning, then head home.

If you google Durango, there is a Lutheran Church on 25th St.(Junction Creek Rd). I was in their parking lot. look for Needham School, the church is right across the street.
First of all, Thank You to the FIREFIGHTERS!!! They are still working on this fire. It should be mostly contained today.

Very nice series Diane. I couldn't pick a favorite.

Great series Diane! You have done very well.
Thank You! I don't think I will be going back. I can beat up my truck a lot closer to home.
