Congratulations on your new Canon 6D, TriX. You'll love it as I do.
If I am wrong and you have not bought it, then take your own advise, do us all a courtesy, and leave the thread.
It's like a little gang of bullies. Kind of cute.
Wonderful. Now we are not talking about the relative price of a Canon 6D, nor how we Hogs should be stifling posters who state facts.
We need to change the topic title to "Rus' Lack of Communicating Coherently". (Oh, I'm sorry, is the topic just about my communication skills, or anyone's?)
There you go, leftj, the topic is open, just as the others were, to you, to all, and I will not "Report Issue" even though you're way out of line.
No, I was not disingenuous. If the seller wants to know why he is not selling the lens, he could in time reflect and say to himself that it was because Canon was beating his private sale deal. (Hey wait, I see now -- maybe I can sell my Canon 6D private sale and grab one of those refurbs for the same price? Hey, gee, what an idea. Now, I just need to find a pad. Let's see. Maybe I'll go to ... yes, that's it, Ugly Hedgehog.)
No one should be insulted by a statement of fact. We all get served by it.
But, now that I know what you are up to, and that it matters so much to you, TriX, that we all join in to keep each other ignorant, I'll be sure to check out any sales you post and give the forum my assessment.

This post is total gibberish.
Not so, leftj, and enough of your insults. It makes you look bad, not me.

Ok - just to clarify, I don’t think the comment by rcdovala was intended to be a “spoiler”, but that’s how it turned out. It may have been well-intentioned, but it harmed the OP, and this should be a lesson for those contemplating remarking unfavorably on for sale posts. In the end, I return to my original and last comment: if you were the seller, is this how you’d want to be treated? I think this discussion has pretty well run it’s course, so I won’t be commenting further...
Thanks again, rcdovala. You did a service to this forum.
And a resolution to those who would like to have only positive discussion about even overpriced items such as this one: Only PMs should be allowed by the forum administrator. No one discussing items for sale. Otherwise, terrific participants such as rcdovala will come in a try to serve the entire forum, seller, buyer and all. How does he serve the seller ~ Well, he kind of told the seller how everyone in a forum of such savvy people would never buy what he is selling, including all those big walleted Hogs defended his pricing. They did not buy it, noooo, they just told everyone else how much of a great deal it is.
Come on, Hogs.

"Refurbished" does not mean "New" ! When Canon refurbishes a camera they do not replace the shutter . . . and shutter count is what will eventually do the camera in. Personally I believe a "used" camera with 15,000 actuations is a much better deal than a "refurbished" one with 60,000 actuations . . . and definitely worth more money. Canon's "refurbished" price is not the "standard" that you are implying. A "one year warranty" is available Ebay for about $25.00 . . . no big deal!
Is a used 2008 Mazda 3 with 40,000 original miles not worth more than a "re-conditioned" Mazda 3 with 150,000 miles on it?
I believe that if you are going to stick your nose into a place where it is none of your business, you had better explain all of the circumstances under which the alternative "might" be a better deal. Otherwise . . . butt out!
THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS TWO USED ITEMS BEING IDENTICAL . . . SO ALSO NO TWO ITEMS BEING WORTH THE EXACT SAME AMOUNT!
"Refurbished" does not mean "New&q... (

If you feel it was none of rcdovala's business to say what he said, how is it any of your business to say what you just said?
In sales, what rcdovola did, was to present an objection. The job of a salesperson is to overcome such objections. You did a fine job of overcoming the objection for whomever might be a prospective buyer -- up until the point where you decided to insult another Hog. Up to that point, what you wrote may be just what a buyer needs to hear to spend the money for the one here for sale. But rcdovala did a fine job of bringing up an objection. That's how this works.

I feel as though the Hog that shared his opinion of my post to have did me a great disservice.
It's a very interesting example. It almost gets to the point where you might want to "Report Issue" to see what an forum owner or admin would say about it. I have forums and blogs. My issue would have been, with Why? Is there something intrinsically wrong with such a ring? If so, then say so, otherwise the poster is just spitting on your sidewalk.
The other side is that, if I had wanted the ring, it would not have kept me from pursuing it. How much effort do I want to put in pursuing the ring elsewhere?
Your response was better than mine may have been.

Always two ways to look at it. I once saw a 6D at a garage sale for $750.00. Should I have pointed this out?
That would be up to you, wouldn't it?
Should I blast you for not mentioning it? Or do Hogs only blast other Hogs for mentioning it?

An open forum is exactly what we are participating in so no need to answer your question when the nature of the exchange is in and of itself the answer. An open forum includes posting disagreement with the appropriateness of someone else's posting.
Surely. And what this discussion turned into is whether rcdovala should have posted information openly in this open forum. The answer becomes, "Yes." And I thanked my fellow Hog.
If the OP considers the camera to be worth 900 dollars, but it can be had at Canon refurbished for the same amount, with a 1-year manufacturer's warranty, then that info is shareable, and will have interest to many readers.
Why would you want your fellow hogs not to share such information? After all, we do, and we will. What's the idea here?
Not so. My idea is an open forum.
What's your idea? That was the question, and like a flim-flam artist, you chose not to answer me.

I respect your opinion however just remember to maintain it when you list something and someone posts something about your listing that you don't appreciate.
Why would I not appreciate it?
Also, I have seen other members come into seller threads to announce just how good a deal something is. Do we say, "Hey, none of your business" to that person? Do we say, "PM only or we will brand you as a jerk or something?"
What's the idea here?
