I collected fountain pens for a number of years, and I still have around 150 of them. They're all from years, from around 1925, to 2000. My first "collector" pen was a Parker Duofold from 1928. It's one of the smoothest writers ever. There's something about the older fountain pens which doesn't exist in the newer ones. My pens from the early years all come with 14k gold nibs, and those are more flexible and smooth than the newer ones with 18k gold.
I too collect fountain pens. the kind that accept cartridges are easily cleaned. Soak nib in a mild solution of dawn and water until the water runs clear. Bladders ones are fixable with new bladders but I have none of those. You might like writing with it. Don't get rid of it.
