I agree. To me having the sun and its reflection on the thirds line on the right makes sense since you have the rock formation on the left balancing out. The reflection is the main interest here.

I too would crop the top to move the vertical thirds line closer to the horizon. I am attaching my proposed crop.

Nice! Thanks.

Fix the tilted horizon.

It's not the horizon. . . it's level. It's the photographer that's tilted!

It was very clear. Perhaps mine wasn't. If you had taken three photographs with each depicting the positioning as shown it would be possible to determine with was the more favorable. Simply moving the, cropping, or whatever a single image doesn't realign the sun's reflection on the water. Thus, any attempt to compose the photograph after the fact leads to "unreal" looking alignments of reflections. It may only be a subtl few degrees but it is noticeable.

They actually are three separate photos, taken a few seconds apart. Apparently I neglected to store the originals on the last two so you weren't able to see the file names or EXIF data. If you look closely at the positions of the birds in the water that will become apparent.

This is difficult to answer, as it's akin to making a silk purse...

The better presentation would have been to photograph the three compositional questions individually and ask for a preference.

I'm not sure what you mean by "photograph the three compositional questions individually". My question was whether it would be more pleasing to align the sun or the horizon with the third points in this situation. That may not have been clear.

Looks nice, but there's something about this photograph that I just can't put my finger on it.

I think you're right. The sky is too blue and the color is not reflected in the highlights in the rocks. I warmed up the sky a bit. Better?

Thanks for all your feedback. I was flipping back and forth between this and the original raw image and the difference was jarring. Maybe i shouldn't do that. The clouds were there originally, just cranked up a bit with "Dehaze" in Lightroom.

Great Photo! Wall hanger.
Well composed. Perfectly balanced.
Just a suggestion: Could stand brightening up a bit.
But well done

Thanks, It was heavily cropped so it may not print well. I was trying to avoid washing out the whites.

Great shot. Do they normally have red eyes or has this one been over served.

Yes, the eyes are bright red. The color shows best when the sun illuminates it directly, as in this photo. Most photos I've seen have the eyes shaded by the brow so the color is not as apparent.

That's what my neighbor thought when I told her there was a kite in her tree. And she's a bird watcher!

A white tailed, aka black shouldered kite on top of a neighbor's tree. The sun was low enough to light up his red eye.

Both images are equally dramatic. Being somewhat more left brained than right, a couple of things caught my eye. The fence and the telephone poles emphasize the lens's wide angle distortion, and the "Jesus rays" appear to be splayed in the wrong direction. They also look slightly curved, giving them an unnatural appearance. Of course I could be all wet if that's a rain shower.
