I’ve been using them exclusively for the past 6 years. I’m very pleased with their prints and service. A year ago, I messed up an order and Molly stepped in to bail me out, going way above and beyond to fix it.
I’m the furthest thing from a professional photographer on UHH but Mpix treats me like I am one and as if my small amount of business matters to them.

I have the canon sx50 hs and use an Op-tech shoulder strap with it. I use the same strap on my canon 7d2. Sturdy, reliable, and cheap (~$20). I usually sling it over my right shoulder, but use it cross-body style For more security when I’m hiking or in a crowd. I’m very pleased with it.

I have used MPIX for years. Quick turn-around, fast delivery. Just make sure your screen and their printer agree. There are several ways to do this. The simplest is for them to send you a sample pack, and you match your screen to it.

This is excellent advice. I too have used them for years and at first I wasn’t careful enough with matching up my screen with their printer output. After figuring that out it’s been smooth sailing. I’ve used them for photo books, small prints, blown up prints, even a few metal prints. All have been excellent quality.

The only time I had a problem was last summer when I got a couple of 11”X14” prints back that were not what I had expected. After reviewing what I’d sent them, I realized it was my fault as I’d gotten in a hurry and they’d printed exactly what my computer had told them to! I emailed their customer service and explained my mistake; their representative replied within minutes, told me to send the correct images, and they would reprint them. Not only did they print them that afternoon, they shipped them to me with overnight delivery and I received them the next day! At NO charge whatsoever to me even though I’d told them I would gladly pay for my own mistake. Best customer service I’ve experienced in a long time.

Beautiful! Thanks for the bloom instead of the gloom!
I’ve got some flowers from bulbs in my garden that look like your second picture of little blue wildflowers. I’ve always referred to them as Japanese irises, but I’m no master gardener, what do I know.

Thank you. Should I say I used my cell phone??

Haha, nothing wrong with using your cell phone! There are many cell phone photographers who could shoot circles around me even if I had the latest and greatest gear! These spiders have stopped me in my tracks many times with their size and bright colors while working around the yard.

Black and yellow garden spider. Big and scary looking, but non-aggressive. That’s a beautiful, colorful capture. Thanks for sharing.

This one comes by daily. We have two others that show up occasionally.

Last summer, I came upon these black squirrels on the American side of Niagara Falls. I’m sure my more learned colleagues on UHH are aware of such a species but it was a first for me.

Apparently the latest smart phones are built around the camera .... and even carrier {Verizon, AT&T, Sprint, etc} advertising is more about that than about calling or texting, so this may not be a fair characterization.

For me, this is fair: my iPhone 7 has the ability to capture images but printing them bigger than 4”X6” is a waste of time and money. Even at this small print size, the prints out of my Canon sx50 and Canon 7D have more depth, clarity, contrast, and richness of color. I routinely blow up images to 11”X14” and sometimes even 16”X20”; I frame them, then hang them or give them away. I could never do that with my cellphone images.

Many members have suggested the Canon G9x Mark II or Canon G7X Mark II. I have had my G9X Mark II for several months now and am consistently amazed what it can do. Compare the two and I found the cheaper G9X Mark II does everything I want and is about $150 less than the G9X. I didn't feel I needed the flip screen and the 1" sensor is wonderful. I doubt there is another camera with the same features including raw, 1" sensor etc that is as small as the G9X Mark II. It literally fits in my shirt pocket. I am further impressed that CHG_CANON also has one and speaks highly of it. His knowledge on this forum is highly respected.

Thanks for your input hj. CHG_CANON swings a lot of weight with me here as well.

I recently picked up a used Sony hx80 pocketable camera. It has an 18 mb sensor and a fixed zoom with an angle of view range equivalent to 24mm to 720mm. It s so small that I have to be careful where my big fat fingers go so as not to hit a button accidentally. I like it's "SLR like" eye level LCD viewfinder and it's image stabilization, Up to about 550 mm equiv. angle of view, the lens is quite sharp but starts to suffer at about 600mm equiv. and beyond. Here's a pic of the camera in my hand and a pic taken with the camera. Click download for a more critical exam of hte images

I just went through this whole thing a week ago and what I finally settled on was the Leica C Lux. My criteria was RAW, APS-C or 1” sensor, compact, zoom, pop-up flash and full mode control. Tilt screen is not a concern for me. If you get this camera you MUST get the textbook from Amazon on how to operate it, you will be lost otherwise. Look up the camera on B&H. Extra battery and clam shell case a must along with glass screen protector. Images on the LCD monitor are misleadingly average but when imported into LR or PS totally impressed.
I also shoot with Nikon D850, D800e, Fujifilm X100F & XT-3 which is tough competition but this little guy really rocks. If you want a bigger sensor and less zoom and no pop-up look at the Leica D Lux 7. Good luck, Homey

I went though the same decision process and bought a Canon G5X Mk II two weeks ago and I'm very happy with it. I'm only bringing the G5X (and our SD 1100 for a back-up) on our next cruise. Here is my post with the first photos I took with the new camera: https://www.uglyhedgehog.com/t-631752-1.html

Thanks DJphoto, nice pictures. I appreciate your input.

To not answer your question, you've got a full DSLR and a bridge camera and a camera in your phone and you are now looking for something else? I would pick one of the cameras you are already using, take that with me and vow to use it daily. If you aren't taking pictures while traveling I really don't think it's because you don't have the right camera.
I have made this point before on UHH and most people don't agree with me, but I can live with that.
...Cam

CamB, I have lugged both my cameras on long trips (one at a time) over the past 10 years and took over 1,000 photos every time. I’m tired of the weight, bulk etc. and looking to pare it down. My old cellphone is not adequate.
I love taking pictures but I’m no professional. I don’t need a backpack full of gear.

I bought a Panasonic Lumix ZS-100 to take to Peru. I typically shoot with a Nikon D750, but I did not want to be trekking around the Amazon and the Andes with any more weight than necessary. I shot in every mode, still and video, and am really impressed. Enlargements to 11 x 14 look great.

oldschool, looks great, thank you.
