this response comes late. Really behind in my mail. I travel a lot (at least before CV). Have lived overseas, too. I worked in Europe, Asia and here in the US, of course. So i feel quite qualified to comment on this.

In general, US is greatly respected, regardless of what some will say/desire. There is a lot of jealousy out there, but when one gets into conversation with anyone, anywhere, most love what they know about the US. Not long ago in NZ i was talking to someone. Immediately they starting trash talking Trump. Then as the conversation progressed i heard the "we love America!". Also conceded that open borders is a stupid idea, etc. etc.

Voting should be in person ..except a small number of absentee ballots. ID should have to be shown. Voting is that serious an issue.

I keep hearing/reading that election fraud is so low that it doesn't really make a difference. i'm amazed at this cavalier attitude. Everyone should think of it as potentially canceling YOUR vote. Is that what you want?

To me, voting is one of the most sacred rights we have. We're lucky to be residents of the USA. Why would anyone want to have their vote for a fraudulent one??? The thought of it makes me so angry.


Besides the PA fraud mentioned here, there was the recent case in WV where a postman changed the mail-in/absentee votes he was carrying in the back of his postal truck. This makes me so angry!

and how do you know i never watch? I watch fox and msdnc and cnn semi-regularly. read the times, cnn feed, USA today online and others. Even Al Jazeera. I try to listen to all sides before making up my mind. Dont let any of them dominate my thinking. I'm a free-thinker. Now a devotee of any one station, paper, etc. could vote with GOP or Dem depending on views and candidates. We need more free-thinkers instead of the vast majority of sheep in our society today.

at least I've heard Hannity and Tucker apologize once in a while for a misstatement. Never heard Madcow apologize or anyone on MSNBC for anything. They "have the proof of Russia collusion"...over and over and over again. msdnc is quite disingenuous. Hannity and Carlson make no bones about being opinion. much of cnn, msdnc and others present their opinion pieces as news.

I've taken it, as have my wife, many, many times and for extended times for travel into areas known for malaria. Africa, Malaysia, India, etc. Never a problem.

If you look at the side effects, not different than most anything else. Scary looking due to stupid regulations by FDA. "Don't take if allergic". "May cause...X, Y, Z". Same warnings for Ibuprophen, Tylenol, Aspirin, etc. But its been around since the 50's. Considered very safe and widely prescribed with hardly any hesitation...according to our travel nurse and our physicians.

any talk politicizing this drug is just dopey! But then again, the left wants to politicize any and everything. Very sad that they can't find one credible candidate to put up against Trump. I'm not a Republican, but can't support the silly planks in the dem platform which are slanting more and more left. Were the dems able to put up a credible candidate, then i would consider.

HCQ is safe, effective...if you ignore the politicized data/reports. Zinc supplements, too are very safe with long history.

i can't praise lens hoods enough! I see really expensive lens with no hoods and I can't understand it. i do know that a hood will sometimes interfere with flash or some wide angle lenses, but i am a wildlife photographer and know how valuable the hood is in the field. Not just to keep the sun out, but the rain, dust, bugs.

I see people in the rain: no hood
I see people by the pounding surf or on boats: no hood

I just can't understand it.

My friend, new to photography didnt have his hood on despite my urging. We were back at my place at the front door. Door latch is the tang type. the camera swung, broke the skylight filter...there at my urging...it saved his lens. Had the hood been on, nothing would have broken. He learned his lesson and now hood on all the time.

I have encountered numerous bumps and bruises to my cameras while hiking and "hunting" my subjects. Hood has saved the day over and over again. hood never comes off except for cleaning. Occasionally, i have found little spiders building a meager web across and inside the hood, so watch for that...but routine cleaning should detect/disrupt that. Lenses will need less cleaning if hood is kept on.

I'm astounded at the ignorance shown by press and general public in this whole "crisis". Everyone is blindly following instead of thinking. It is a fact that the numbers are inflated...whether you like Trump or not...data is data. let the data speak for itself and keep damn politics out of it.

condensate? Maybe prior condensation has agglomerated and concentrated debris. Center of lens would be the last part to clear of condensation. Any contaminants would be concentrated in the last of the liquid to clear.

Unfortunately, i have had this problem in the past. i lived in Singapore (always hot and humid). Apartment delightfully air conditioned. I went out with a new lens and the lens was full of condensation. I waited a while and took a few pix. White spot in middle. It did clear but at high f-stops, i could always see some debris and lack of clarity in the center of the lens.

Condensation or contaminants as a result is my best guess.
