I really like how the River? turned red!!!
You are a master of light indeed... can you share your lighting technique for this beautiful picture.... I want to learn!!!!
How did you position your lights?
Great portrait
Can you share your flash setting and position???
I am guessing you were about 8-10' from the family???
Perhaps you should continue using your 50mm lens...
Good lighting and sharpness congratulations
Great portraits... I too want to take portraits...
Can you share the equipment and lighting technik you used???
Thanks Alissa... I have already ordered the trigger from Amazon.
Very reasonable pricing.
Can you help me with one more item?
on another post you talk about your Softbox and you called it a "brollie" box. can you describe this product? This product appears to be an umbrella with a black back... am I close?
Hi Alissa:
I was able to figure out how to read all your post and I am glad I did... you have opened a field of photography that I am very interested in learning, and I hope to get there soon. Your explanations have made the learning curve seem easy...
Can you tell me the type/brand/setup of triggers you use for your flashes? I don't have these items...
Also, have you ever considered using the Master Flash function of the camera? Seem like this would work if you wanted... but maybe you don't want the camera flash at all!!!
Love the picture of the kids in the meadow... beautiful
I too have the weight dilemma... I think my weight is even heavier than your gear (D810 and 24-70 mm).
So, we have been shopping for a D5500 with the 18-140 lens. About half the weight... and also with the Wifi feature.
We will order tonight, both refurbished, making this a very reasonable purchase.
I'll test the set up on Thanksgiving hike in SoCal, Laguna Beach..
Also, the bag will use will be the sling bag Velocity 7 from Tamrac.
I hope this helps you...

I also follow Ken Rockwell. His writings and reviews are straight to the point, which I easily understand.
I think I should elaborate on my question:
Does any of you readers have a D5500 and tried FX lenses? Could you explain the pluses and minus of this set up?
The FX lenses I have are all modern G lenses.
I have to confess, I had a lot to do with the decision of the D5500: WiFi, touch screen and swivel screen appealed to her; lighter back up camera appeal to me.
I hope this narrows down my question

huummmm... This could be an option. You definitely have a good idea
I have plenty of FX glass for the D800 and D810. However my wife wants to start shooting pictures on her own... and wants a lighter set up. She has decided on the the D5500 with 18-140 lens. This Camera fits her hands better and is half the weight ( I tried to get her to use the D800... no luck!!)
How successful will my FX glass be on the D5500?
I agree as well.... awesome picture.
I looked up the LACF in Pomona and could not figure out when they had the Luminasia show... Can you give insight as to how to get to see this lantern show? What nights/dates is it offered?
Thanks... And how about a few more shots of those awesome colors...

Sorry for not being clear... I have a panoramic of San Diego at night and I thought I would add a firework layer to complete the skylight with a colorful punch. When I saw your picture, I realized: this is it!
So I went to your site and I found a better one... but could not figure how to go about getting/purchase... Maybe you could tell me how to get to download the fireworks pictures on your site! Thanks
