Hey, Dirt Farmer, everyone to their own taste! That’s a “Tonicade” to me and would certainly be refreshing sitting out on the deck looking at the waves break on a Sunday afternoon in July, but when the afternoon temps begin to go down in mid-August looking out on the beach in September, maybe substitute a capful of good dry vermouth for the tonic!!!! (Of Course, when October rolls in, switch to Laphroige!!! [without any ice!]
To make a perfect GT, take 5oz. of Tanqueray, pour over 3 ice cubes, add a capful of Schweppes Tonic and a slice of lime, twirl twice and you’re all set...........
We’ll be ticking off SIXTY-FIVE year in 30 days and we’re still talking (although my wife complains that I don’t talk often enough)—- —-I’d ask.her again in a heartbeat!!
Just a word of advice from a long-term Arabian Peninsula Resident—-It’s worth whatever time and effort needed to look at this entire series!!! Robert the Wanderer

YES, the ascent was a snap——HOWEVER, the descent is not for the faint of heart!!! Joe, I continue to collect all your trek records to add to my Arabic Portfolio, Thanks again!!
We drove that road in 3 LandRovers, almost always in 4 wheel and love gear. It’s as hairy as driving in the West of Ireland and Wales used to be!!!—-BUT worth the effort. Many thanks again for soldiering on and recording your trek!!
THAT’S Good News - - Dubai is a FAR cry from the days when we went over to “The Creek” for the only respite other than Israel. (Thank God I carried two passports and could go in and out of Israel with impunity with the Irish Passport while using the American Passport to maintain my residency status in Qatar and Saudia.
Looking forward to more viewing and Thanks again
