We have been to the Galapagos Islands twice and you won't need the macro lens unless you plan to do flowers and other inanimate objects.

Have the Wimberley, which has served very well. Also, the service from them is excellent!

My wife uses the D500; the first lens was the 200-500/5.6 and has upgraded to the 180-400/4, which has the 1.4x extender built-in. Either way, you will obtain great results.

You are in for a great adventure! I was in Antarctica (including Falklands & South Georgia) in 2016; the D850/16-30 and D500/28-300 will cover most of your needs. The 150-600 will be useful in South Georgia. Make sure to take a dry bag for the landings. I used a D810/24-120 and D7200/100-400 and also took an 18-35 and 70-200.

You'll have a great time; been there twice.
1, Highly recommend a dry bag for the zodiac (panga) transfer from the ship to shore for both wet and dry landings.
2, Take 2 bodies as you will want one with a wide-angle zoom and the other with a telephoto zoom - 300-400 will cover most subjects.

A collapsible walking stick would be very useful, especially on the rougher terrain like lava and going up and down the slopes. Knee pads will be useful.

Have fun!

I have the Sigma; but would pick the Tamron today because of the tripod collar.

You should be fine with what you have. I visited Antarctica in 2017 and had a FF with 24-120 and a D7200 (crop sensor) with 100-400. Have a great trip!

I am also heading to Galapagos in 5 days (for the second time); I am taking a Nikon D810 and 7200 w/24-120, 100-400 and 20mm. I found that this covered everything except for birds that were farther away. Quito old town is safe with a group (exercise general caution as you would anywhere you go). BTW, a dry bag is a good idea to keep your gear dry when in the zodiac. Have a great time!

I have used the 24-120 for several years as a general walkabout lens and has served well. The 24-70, according to reviews, is optically better, but weighs and costs more. Just have to pick what would work better for your needs.

I also have the D810/70-200 F4 combination. I had decided to go with the F4 instead of the F2.8 due to the weight. I have not missed the 2.8 for my photography. Unless you are missing shots, the 2.8 is not needed. Cheers!

I have used the Nikon 18-200 for over 5 years; a versatile walkabout lens. Any distortion can be easily corrected in Lightroom.
