I use quantum battery pacs. They make 6 volt and high energy turbo paks. The six volt units have a clip that takes the place of you double. A. The turbo battery give you almost instantaneous recyle. But beware not all flashes can handle them. Check there web site qtm.com these units are american made(if that matters to you). There are other brands that do the same thing just go to b+h and look for external battery packs. They may seem expensive but you never have to buy aa again.

[quote=billnikon]Both are D lenses, so they will not work on the new Nikon Z series. Nikon no longer has parts to repair either one.

First I couldn't care less about a z camera. Second the 200 micro is still in production. Nikon still repairs d lenses I just had one fixed.
In other words you can't answer my question

I already own the 60 and 105 micros. Also the 120 and 200 medical Nikkor. And the bellows and a number of bellows lenses.
While your advice was intended to be kind it did not address my question.

[quote=Manglesphoto]I have had the 200mm f4 since 2008, the only other I considered was the Nikkor 105mm macro/micro.
I chose the 200mm because it had more reach.
I have never heard of a Nikkor 70-180 micro, just checked NikonUSA web site nothing like that listed
https://www.nikonusa.com/en/about-nikon/search.page?q=70-180%20micro&currentPage=1&facet=Overview

They do not list lenses no longer made. Just do a google search.

In would like to hear from someone who has used both the Nikkor 200 micro and the Nikkor 70 - 180 micro. I would like to have them contrast and compared. Age what would make you choose one over the other.

I really want to go to Europe and Africa. I have heard the horror stories about people getting there equipment stolen while out sightseeing. If I was out and someone cut my camera strap and rode off with my stiff I would have a heart attack chasing them down. So here's my question when travelling in distant lands how do you protect your gear. I have a lot of Gear. (GAS cost me my first wife.) so travelling with a point and shoot or just going to enjoy the scenery, Does not work for me.

I am open to suggestions.
Please help.

Unless Im missing something wouldn't a faster shutter speed freeze the water 1/5 of a second makes the water looked blurred. and a lil touch of flash would have opened up his eyes, hes got the raccoon look.

There are a number of different versions of this lens. I have heard that there is at least one version of the lens not to buy because it cannot be fixed. I do not remember that version of the lens not to buy. Can anyone tell me what version is unrepairable? I don't really care about af speed I want it for portraiture.

If you have the choice of two different lens, one a regular like a 50mm f2 or a 50mm enlarging lens. Which generally would be a better choice for use on abellows?

Second question. This may be obvious, but if u have two lenses, will the one with the better resolution make a better choice for macro.

I have the older version that I got on Ebay for $50. This is my most used lens. Its great for walking around. Is it perfect no. But I find it so convenient. BTW I also own the Nikkor 24 - 70 F 2.8 an incredible lens. But unless its something that I am getting paid for I just use the 24 - 120. Actually its the lens that I have the most published stuff from.

Your original post only said you like wide angle lenses, not that you owned wide angle lenses. What you said above makes more sense then. That said, you only have 2 choices to make. Wait for Nikon or Canon (and hope that they make a decent mirroless ff) or buy a Sony A series.

Curious...exactly which lenses are you looking to adapt? Have you looked at any of the lens databases out there showing how good they are on current sensors to make sure it’s worth while to adapt them?

the problem with the Sony cameras is that they vignette with wide angle lenses. And I own, 15mm Voightlander, 21F4 Leica R, 24mm F 2.8, 28 F 2.8, 35 F1.4 and 35 F 2 Leica m Lenses. Plus I do not buy into the old lenses are not up to the modern sensors argument.
