Got some good suggestions for improvements so please tell me if you think this is any better. Darkened subjects a little and got rid of some of the skin blotchiness. I will also post the original to show what I was working with which was a good picture with a lot of background clutter so I just wanted to try something new that I hadn't done before. Let me know if this edit looks any better.

Turned out nice. I like the details! I actually like it much better than the original color print. Nice job!

WOW! I love it .. how did you do that????? PLZZZZZZ

Thanks Barb...cropped original used CS5 to monochrome with minor HDR toning. Feathered background selection to include outer edge of couple and table then used dodge tool to get rid of background. Went over background with soft white brush. Cloned out some blotchiness on skin. Glad you liked it.

Too much background, too much clutter on the table, I like the crop and the artistic approach you took. Great work.

I agree George...original is just a nice snapshot with too much going on. I think the edit is something they will like. Thanks for comments.
Bet you get some nice photo opps in the piney woods of East TX.

Nice clear cityscapes. Shot at a perfect time to pick up nice subdued colors. Good work.

A few Antlers left in the old Corral at the Lamar Valley Buffalo Institute.

A shot of the buffalo Institute. A buddy of mine stayed there a few years back and almost froze to death. He said the snow never melted off their boots all night long. Inside the cabin with the heat on. Now that's cold.

I really enjoy your work irrigator

Couple of weeks ago, my wife & I were at the South Padre Island Bird and Nature Center. Popular spot for birds with a boardwalk.
Rich environment to see/photograph birds, some large.
I captured a lot of the usual birds.
I don't remember anyone posting one of these.
These guys blend in very well.
Pat

Great shots Pat. What lens did you use?

I like it! I'm also a fan of HDR. I agree with everyone else I bit darker for details!

Thanks Pellwanger. I like some HDR when not over the top. I reposted in another thread and darkened a little and cleaned up the blotchiness. I think it looks better.

I was born and raised in Pgh so I'm very familiar with South Park. I lived in Dormont area, went to South Catholic HS. Had a lot of good times at South Park growing up.

Wow small world! I'll have to check it out I want to see it after your corrections. Take care

This was a color shot at a table on the beach with a lot of busy background. Edited in CS5 with some HDR tone mapping and selective dodging. I'd like to print an 8x10 for these friends but wanted to get some opinions. Thanks for taking a look.

Thanks MtnMan...I reposted in another thread and darkened that up a little
