They’re good for a lot of things. Home security, for instance. I had to make sure the skunk had left my crawl space before replacing a foundation vent. 🦨

This of course is a replica using an S&S engine. I think the originals used a JAP. Back in the 70’s there was a very nice kit being done in England call the Triking that used a Motoguzi V-twin. There is just some romantic novelty about these “cycle cars” that goes beyond practical considerations.

Do people eat mink? Probably tastes like rabbit which tastes like chicken, of course. Fifteen million could feed a few if you could cull the truly infected ones.

FWIW, 77 yrs old and opted for “perfect” distance vision. Got it -(20/15) despite some astigmatism. Near/far compromises depth perception. I can still see clearly at arms length, but use a 1-Day contact lens when I expect to need better near vision. Works well for me.

I was raised in the Lake Effect zone of Northern Indiana but have been out here on the left coast for the last fifty years or so. I still miss the change of seasons. I would have a new appreciation for the cycle of life if I were to move back there today.

Your shots make me a little nostalgic. Good job!

Interesting shots here especially for someone who also grew up in South Bend. I wonder if the downtown redevelopers kept the big old clock that stood on the corner there by the First National Bank?

What if all the history, sociology and political science majors would just burn their books? That would be the end of the micro aggressions.

That shot of the blacksmith is especially interesting. The lighting effect makes it at once intriguing and mysterious. I kept finding something new from one moment to the next. Thanks for posting.

Great shots of classic Hudsons in the museum. Have been to Shipshewana a number of times for my wife’s quilting conventions but didn’t know about the museum. Dang! Now it’s too late.

Word is that Kodak has sold its paper and chemistry to Hong Kong based Sino Promise. This will pretty well spell their exit from the photography industry.

I know of only one rescue gone bad when neighbors took in a chocolate Lab that had seizures. Seems most rescues like this one are pretty successful. Makes me wonder why so many good dogs are abandoned at the pound. Kinda of a sad reflection on humanity.

Here's a solution to "sticky" plastic on older cameras I have been meaning to post for awhile. I have used it on a couple of old Voightlander Bessa-L cameras which seem to be prone to this problem and I have also used it on my Sony RX100 VI & my RX1 to create effective grips. I never liked the bulky iPhone grips so used it here too. It is flexible enough and will take a bit of a curve but it doesn't stretch much. There are probably other sources, but I have used these in the past:

Be sure to get the adhesive rubber textured tape and not the non-skid adhesive tape. It's like emory paper and would not be very comfortable.

Are you deaf? You are lucky if the answer is “No”. These masks further isolate us deaf people when we can only pick up mumbles and not read lips. I never realized how I had grown to depend on this until now. To complicate things even more the popular masks that hook behind my ears pull my hearing aids off. A friend lost one of her’s ($3000) like this last week. Despite the misleading statistics surrounding mask design I have resorted to a bandana to keep the paranoid happy but usually ask that the mask be pulled down during a conversation. LIFE is a risk and no matter what the power mad politicians and the confused medical experts tell us they will never eliminate it. Live on!
