There has been lots of activity in our backyard. The juvenile Baltimore orioles are still hanging around. An occasional adult still drops in. There are lots of house finches, young and old. Here is an eastern bluebird that caught a snack.

Thanks, Retired CPO! (Sorry that I don't know your name.)
We have had several orioles around our place for weeks. I think this male orchard oriole is my favorite.
The belly band would indicate red-tailed hawk. The beak is shaped like a hawk beak and not as large as an eagle beak. It is a juvenile, but I don’t know how old.
Thanks to all who have looked at these owl pictures and a special thanks to those of you who commented. It was a magical time photographing this owl.
I have been trying to get pictures of the short-eared owls in our area in better light. Tonight it finally came together. Still not great light, but then our short-eared owls seem to hunter much later than others that I have seen posted on here.
Thanks to all who have looked and a special thanks to those who have commented.
This owl was photographed in better light than the one that I previously posted. I keep hoping for great light, but I take what I am given. :-)
I can't seem to catch a break trying to find these short-eared owls in decent light. These were taken at almost 6:00 pm in NE Ohio on a cloudy, thickly overcast day. I used Lightroom and Topaz Denoise AI to try to clean them up. Any suggestions to improve them further are appreciated.
Thanks to everyone who took time to look and especially to those who commmented.
