Read this on UHH not too long ago: when shooting a series for panoramic stitching, at the end of the series take a photo of your hand with number of fingers showing how many shots. This is particularly handy if, at the beginning of shooting that subject, you did a few frames that weren't intended to be part of the pano.

I still have my D700 and bought a D850. Using the same lens, I shot 5 landscape photos of a botanical garden. The detail difference was amazing. I was also able to crop really close and the images still had details.

While correcting in post is sometimes possible, too often there is nothing in the sky but grossly overexposure. Using bracketing, perhaps even clicking negative ev a bit will give you a great photo. A graduated filter is another possibility. Perhaps ecobin and hobbit should elaborate on a few details to be informative to the UHH population with less experience.

UHH does not charge by the word, so would you gentlemen elaborate .... How would you do the correction in post?

I know its not made anymore, but the Macro lens I swear by is the Nikon 70/180 f/4.5-5.6. Its an awesome lens. I also have a Nikon 105MM and a Nikon 35/70 Macro.

The one thing that I like about digital is you can see the impacts of settings changes right after you take the photo. The camera manual that comes with the unit are mostly garbage and are very tiny to read. Grab two books read them, try out the settings and then pick a mode that is most appealing to you. For example in Nikon I mostly shoot in aperture priority, where I set the F stop and the camera picks the shutter speed. My 2nd choice is manual mode depending on conditions.

If the time spent on making silly lists like this were put to other uses we would have less division.

Its not the camera people, but the person behind it. When I got my Brownie back in the 60's as a hand me down, my uncle told me to focus on the photo not the technology. BTW, I still have said camera.

In the manufacturers point of view selling 100,000 of a 50mm 1.8 lens might bring a tidy profit versus selling 5,000 of a 50mm 1.4 lens. I have both BTW, and needed the extra bokeh.

The issue isn't what camera to bring, but battery life. And remembering to recharge or replace the batteries. Consider the COOLPIX A10 or L32 from Nikon. Both use AA batteries. I have one in each car and a 4 spare batteries.

Check settings a1: AF-C Priority Selection and a2: AF-S Priority Selection. If they are set to focus, the camera will not take the photo if it has not acquired focus. I set both to Focus in my Nikons but you can change that to Release.

To add to this, check the minimum focusing distances on each lens. I have an older AF lens that has a 5' minimum focusing distance.

My son has the AF-P DX NIKKOR 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G VR which he uses mostly for landscape and house pictures on a D3200. He is a realtor.

We don't know what these players contribute to, nor can we assume they all drive Ferrari's so stop that nonsense.

Recently a black security guard who had a gun out, and capturing a CRIMINAL and the security guard was shot and killed.

After the War of Northern Aggression we all became slaves to the Federal Government AND we allow the politicians to divide us along racial, gender, religion, creed and other ways. By being divided the Federal Government and all the State Houses take advantage of all us, except their buddies of course.
