Thats’a a beauty--the scene.

Thank you. It was just one of those moments where all the pieces fell into place at the right time.

I trust a ball on the tracks is out of bounds...

We play them as they lie, where they lie. One of my friends actually, by total mishit, struck a ball into a moving Amtrack train in the Denver area.

There is a wonderful public golf course in Logan Utah that has the extra benefit of a Railroad Running Through It.!
I always take my camera with me when I play, and this summer I was rewarded with a UP freight passing just behind the 5th hole.

On the bottom menu bar, on the right side , there is a triangle. Click on it and select Compare.

Yeah, I got that. What I couldn't accomplish was "lock" the two images so as I moved the navigation box on one, it also moved the area on the compared image. I didn't realize the toolbar was hidden. Then I remembered the key stroke T will toggle between toolbar on and off.

Found it! Had to hit the "T" for toolbar to reveal it.

I have struggled this evening and can't get the padlock back. What I commonly do is select two comparator images and view them as a pair. For some reason the little padlock icon to lock the images in sync is gone and I can't find it. (when enabled moving one image moves the other as well so you can compare different parts of the images).

Hopefully someone here can help me find the missing padlock!

I have not made much use of the auto mask feature, but this video might help explain it. I assume you turn off the overlay (O) to see the changes.

BTW - If I reduce an image to 1:16 then apply a mask, it changes in both the editing window and the navigation window. Could be an issue with your Lightroom or your graphic card - I have always had issues with Lightroom fully supporting my GPU, so it is run with GPU advanced acceleration turned off, only display setting is checked.

Give yours a try with GPU in display only, and even turned off and see if there is a difference.
I have not made much use of the auto mask feature,... (show quote)

Thanks...I did have the overlay turned on! All is well. Appreciate your guidance.

I only use auto mask with a particular tool, for example graduated filter, where it is used to deselect areas you don't want affected. What do you use it for?

Here is a link to the video that got me trying this..starts about 2:15

Trying the auto mask feature in lightroom classic where I reduce the entire image to say 1:16, then make a large mask that encompasses the entire image, then select area of image to apply automask. All of this works fine, but when I make an adjustment, say change exposure, the change is only visible in the navigation window, not in the large primary image window. If I select "done" then the changes appear. Do I have something set incorrectly that I can only, in real time, visualize the change in the small window?
Thanks!

Hi, somehow I seem to have lost the light room 6.14 lens profiles! I click "enable profile corrections" Setup default...no profiles. Setup auto...no lens corrections! I have tried with various lenses that should be included like the Sony 85mm 1.8, 24070 2.8, 90mm macro, 70-200 f4 and none have a profile. How did I lose them? Thanks.

If Sony gets back to you with a different answer, please post it here. I would definitely like to know.

Still waiting for call back, suspect it is not coming so will try them again next week. One would hope, if it isn't possible now, that a firmware update could accomplish it.

For now I have found the best solution to keep the camera in tracking mode, use a small or medium focus area, and start tracking by touching the screen. Then to actually choose my target, PUT MY HAND OVER THE LENS for a moment to "unstick" tracking, then reassign a new target by half pressing the shutter all with my eye never leaving the finder.
