I also have a Q2 which I absolutely love and it helped me depart the Sony A7r II. The other Leica I own and really love is the SL2. I have the Leica APO Summicron SL 35/2 lens and to me, the Q2 is actually a bit better! I'm pretty sure I must not be using the 35L to it's full potential, and it IS beautiful to use and the IQ is stellar. Just to me the Q2 is actually a bit better! Can that be true really?

My other lenses for the SL are an assortment of Sigma and Panasonic Lumix covering 15mm/1.8 to 150-600. Being a birder, long lenses are essential!

I am also intrigued by the Leica M mainly for its heritage. The SL2 and Q2 probably are its equal in the rather narrow focal length that a rangefinder is really good for and have the huge advantage of being able to use longer and shorter lenses with auto focus. I have recently been shooting the Q2 in manual focus using focus peaking and find that is really great for close distances. More than 47 megapixels is not that important to me at this point.

Of course, you could do the same with the M11 if you add the visoflex! But that kind of ruins the esthetic of the classic M to me at least!

Just my two cents for your consideration!

The Apple Credit Card give cash back on most or perhaps all transactions. The percentage is more on Apple product purchases. There is an option in wallet to apply these credits to your balance.

Some do not like the EVF and prefer an optical view. And mirrorless cameras are more prone to sensors getting dirty from changing lenses frequently. For me I have been using mirrorless for a long time and would never go back! The advantages of the EVF and smaller size camera bodies make up for and disadvantages.

There is one in eastern PA that you can get kind of close to, but I don't remember where it is. In a state park I think! But even that you can't get right up to it. Eagles are laying eggs now and need privacy! They could be disturbed if the public had easy access!

The nest in Duke Farms is not visible to the public except non their excellent web cam. They want it undistirbed! There IS one in the Great Swamp National wildlife refuge that you can see off Long Hill Road from a distance.

I might be looking to pick up a gently used Leica SL (type 601) to use with the Benro Polaris I backed on Kick starter. They support the M9 and the SL but not the SL2. I see pretty good looking used SL's for $2,500 or a bit less on eBay and am tempted to add one to my collection. If you ever want to upgrade to the SL2 I might be interested in a buy....Oh, and I did have the Sony Rx1-r and agree the images were great, but the ergonomics were not, and I actually prefer a 28mm wide angle for a wide angle walk around lens so the Q2 is a better travel camera for me. The digital zoom on the Q2 is surprisingly fun even if it is no different than cropping a full frame image.

I also owned the Sony Rx-1 for a year or two and loved that. Wished I hadn't sold it for a few years after I did, till I got the Q2! Both are excellent, but for me at least, the Q2 is a keeper and the RX-1 wasn't.

I also had the Sony RX100 and liked that too. But it is true that the Leica user interface is way better! And the SL2 and Q2 are the same!

Ah, the Q2 IS wonderful! Love handling it and the images are wonderful. I actually think it’s as sharp and has slightly better IQ than the SL 35 on the SL2.

Very nice! How do you like the Z5 compared to the SL? I used to use Nikons years ago and switched to Sony with the A7 series and A6500 but recently to the Leica SL2 and Q2 which I absolutely love! Using Panasonic and Sigma lenses a lot and one SL 35mm. The Leica software impresses me a lot! And the SL2 and Q2 share a very similar interface.

VERY excellent! Could you let us know the camera/lenses used and settings? I am very impressed with your skill as a photographer and would like to know the details as they may help me improve my skills!
