But can they spell "phosphorus " correctly? Oh. Wait. Chemistry.

I got my physics degree in 1969. These are very, very old jokes. New ones please, based on a quantum of new physics theories and models? I'd get a charge out of it.

I'm a Pentaxian who married a Canonite 20 years ago... she's a photojournalist, publicist, and event photographer, I'm a journalist who does photography ... and does some studio work, especially food. We stay out of each others' way except when she does a cookbook or does the photography for my magazine's events... if we ever can do a live event again!

My wife earns far more from photography than I do... and is lusting after an R5 to upgrade her RP and 6D. Live with it. The RX100 seems like a bargain...

Try to write a bunch of files, maybe 16 GB, and see if you can read them back .

The controller chip on a thumb drive or memory card can be faked to tell the computer it has any amount of capacity. It may report 2TB but have just a few MB.

PS adds pixels by looking at nearby pixels and interpolation. AI or fractal software gets far better results by predicting patterns and by taking account of how the original 2x2 or 4x4 or 16x16 pixel blocks in a jpg were combined to make each jpg block to compress in the first place.

Got too close to a politician's hot air blast? Even a press pundit's hot air can do this kind of damage.

Interesting thought. I use tilt to move the focus sweet spot in food photography. For a Sony A6000 I bought two metal "dumb" tilt adaptors, one for pentax and one for Minolta MD --- mainly dumb full frame lenses. $12 each on Alibaba Express at the time. Works perfectly, but really only in the studio.

Serial numbers in store stick are usually sequential. I tend to attach serial number on package to receipt and "file" it in a draw set aside for that.

I'm still blessed with stable hands and often shoot without stabilization. I even program my gear to shoot as low as 1/15 second with full frame 90 mm or shorter -- sometimes with IS, sometimes not. Makes little or no difference for me. My wife needs the stabilization in many instances where I don't. This leads me to this advice:

1. Yes look at the manuals for your camera and lens!

2. Experiment. Your mileage may differ from anyone's advice.

These batteries are built up from little 1.5V carbon zinc cells, so if you need to exceed a certain voltage, but not waste cells, yu may end up with the odd voltage. a 9V has 6 cells in it, 18 V 12 cells, 21 V would have 14...

I commented earlier and have enjoyed the responses. But I did not notice any women responding. Their exercise routines and muscle tricks are not quite the same as men's. My wife makes more money as a photographer than I do, and uses heavy gear (usually an RP or 6D with flash and big EF lenses). She's an event photographer and journalist, and handles social media at a design school in NYC. She usually spends more time in the gym than I do. A good combo for her has been the RP with a pancake EF 40 mm.

She's careful about carrying too much, usually using banana sling bags. But she's showing more interest in her Fujifilm walkaround cameras as we get older. See some of her work at www.rachelellner.com

Just stay healthy. exercise, and have parents with good genes. I'm 73. Just did most of the event photography for a two-day conference my magazine ran in October -- not a normal assignment for me, as I was doing some speaking as well. Pentax K1, battery grip, big on-camera flash, Tamron 28-75 F/2.8 for most shots. Had rotator cuff surgery on right shoulder last March and had ramped up my regular PT. No problems.

But where I used to take the big SLRs on all outdoor fun shoots, I'm much more likely these days to grab the A6000 if weather and intended photo subject permits -- small camera with matching smallish lenses, unlike my wife's full-frame Canon RP. I guess that is a concession to getting older. Don't be ashamed of it. Do what you can. But just stay active. Photography is a good excuse to stay active, so if the weight of the camera intrudes, be comfortable, go lighter.
