OK - I guess, I have found Godox Synch cable which would fit, but not sure about the connection = both ends show the same type of hot shoe.
Other cables show the bulky connector on the camera (then preventing the camera flash to fully pop out.

Anybody having the input? Miro

Pumble - Thanks - yes, I have seen them already B4. BUT they actually do great and improve my on-camera power.... however, I would have to buy one more setup = receiver + 2nd flash . This is what I am trying to avoid.

I also think that if you want to off-set your flash, say 2-3", from camera you have to have a trigger (maybe only a cable?). I basically need that offset just say6" … better 2 Ft but with out a trigger ->> simple hotshoe to hotshoe cable would do it.

Do you have any idea about specialty photo cable manufacturer? M

E.L.. Shapiro - Thank you for all the time you try to work with me.
But again...I am not a photographer with a studio. I need something simple .
So my question would boil down as : Is there any cable Camera hot shoe to Godox hot shoe … to trigger the transmitter ?
Or is there any cable from Nikon port to Godox trigger hot shoe ? Something like port from camera to wireless trigger control receiver. (it is control the camera from outside). But in this/my case I need to control from Camera outside to Godox .

I hope I did express it clearly … Just, when I push the camera trigger it will by wire tell to Godox to fire the external trigger . >>So I can use also the camera own flash (not the on camera mounted other flash)

rmalarz - I appreciated your effort, but, with all the respect, I did not ask that. I understood your point. but I do not have a studio. Sure I can mount the flash on different stand and place it next to camera.
But a cheep-skate arrangement is just use camera flash and second flash hidden behind the subject -> so I can not use the camera flash to trigger the slave (being hidden).

Now I see, my idea is not that bright …… unless I can use the camera flash and somehow connect Gogox trigger by a wire from the Nik7100 port ...if there is any such an option.

Thank you both for the quick response. Miro

What a stupid question? Can somebody who owes the Godox trigger-receiver tell me if this is feasible?
I would like to use radio trigger Godox to slave a flash behind the subject but at the same time use the camera flash to fire (Nikon 7100). So I would have a trigger in the camera hot shoe ! Can I still open camera flash?

On the pictures it looks like not possible - Godox TX-16 2.4G trig (that with a small antenna on top)- blocking full flash opening.

Thank you . Miro

GoofyNewfie Yes, it was the Godos XT 16 (trigger-receiver I have been looking at) However some triggers ..even this one model ... Are not 2.4 G . I have no idea how important it is .
But I have one stupid dilemma . Can I still use the camera flash it I slide trigger into a hot shoe? Why? - Using a little flash from camera (but not the slave trigger light ...with hidden second flash behind the subject/object.

I am not building the studio !!! just a cheap arrangements for "playing with fire". So manual Godos is enough … if it works with Nikon & other cheap flashes like Vivitar.
Calling the B&H Store does not give me any confidence anymore. And the specs of the product ?? No.

Any hint? Thanks Miro

Thank you all.
I guess, I will get a Godos XT16 It is a transform + receiver $38 in B&H. I hope it will then work with any flash. I will not do any fancy photography , manual (try & hope setting) mounted on tripod/ pipe holder. Just to play a little.

Miro PS: I am not that Spanish artist !! Just abbreviation of my first name

GoofyNewfie - Thank you for the advice. Yes I have found a decent Godox with transmitter at B&H. However I just lost my confidence with that store.

By the way …. yes, I know your picture from the past . I really like it.

Josephakraig - you are right, but I just would like to play with a flash off camera only.

E.L.. Shapiro- thank you for the array of suggestions … especially that "Do not buy the cheapo".

I have to study a little my Nik 71000 and how it works => slave w/o firing on-camera flash ….. yes , it should radio. But I do not think it is built in this camera. I would rather buy controllers and small non TTL flash .. just for the play. I am not a serious photographer. Thank you for your attempt to make me better. Miro

CO - thank you … I think you are right. It flashes, but very weak. I had no idea about the capacitor issue. I have stored flash w/o batteries, but did not use it for long time. Well. I am old enough I should know the rule for everything:" You don't use it = you loose it."
And you know? The sales photo experts with 15 y experience did not know this. !!!!

OK, thank you very much. It is plenty to dig thru.
I knew, I can do the bounce, but it did not work - that flash I had. Maybe did, but the power beam was to weak. I see, first I have to learn a bit about the radio transmitter from my 7100.

Thank you all for the quick hints. Now I have a directions for my homework. Miro

I have a cheap ($40) Vivitar SF-4000 flash for the side light. It is light and nice for travel. I have used it as a slave. But now somehow it fires, but very very weak light. Just can not figure out why.
So, I would like to buy a cheap flash which will work as a slave BUT ALSO as a main flash. It means a slave type but without the need to fire the one on camera main flash nor with a cable connection. I would like to play with the portrait against the black backdrop.
I know, I can use a camera w/o flash and hang two-three pocket lights to get the side illumination … but . My camera is Nikon 7100 . Maybe there is a wireless feature in it .

Any advice will be appreciated.

Thank you Miro

OK, OK I will kind of close this thread . You got deep into you expertise (all of you) and your answers are in the astronomical $s for the lenses "OK good". I mean that in the respectful way ...I am not a photographer. Your answers are great to read ...however they do not apply to my level.

Thank you all for your time. Miro

robertjerl - I did not quote anybody particular (normally I do) . My question was to anybody who is willing to answer ….I had a bad experience with Tamron 16-300, so I thought to get rid of it and go 4 Nikon P1000. Not looking for any Great great quality, but a chance to take a picture of a bird....without taking him first to the taxidermist .<..just a bad joke. PS: but Mr Audubon did it that way.
