The Bible is a history book that has survived the ages. It suggests how individuals imagined things to be 2-3 thousands of years ago. So, contrary to what you imply, it is more than a "novel."
It's authenticity, however, in many parts, has been questioned and rightfully so, as it was changed, on more than one occasion, added to, deleted from, written at different times and at many different places, by many different people, none of whom are known, and some its books have been selected, while others discarded before complication.

I totally agree with you James.... BUT how can you believe in anything you have read in the Bible.... YOU do not believe it exists as an accurate account of what happened you have called it a fairy tale...... Therefore there was no rape...in your belief system.
