I had sent two Fujifilm XF 18-55mm lenses to MPB and they refused to buy them stating that they had mold and scratches on the lens. I knew this was wrong as I take photos of my gear. So I sent them to KEH and recieved top dollar for both of them. I'll never do business with MPB again after that experience..

This is interesting. I had the exact opposite happen to me with a lens at KEH. Go figure.

I’ve been there five times and I agree the 24-105 f4 and 11-20 f2.8 will work just fine.

My Canon 28-135mm was about 23 years old. It was on my Canon EOS 2000. I transferred it to my 5D Mark II. Then I mounted it to my 5D Mark IV. It had gone with me to New York City, Terre Haute, London, Puerto Rico, Barcelona, Rome, Pompei, Tuscany, Sicily, Kushadasi, Mykonos, Santorini and Athens. Finally, after the lens has served its faithful best it can be relegated to the repair bench. I shall probably repair it as a do it yourself project. In its place, I was deciding between a Canon 24-105mm lens or a Sigma ART lens. With finances being tight, I opted for the Sigma. I have used it consistently for the last few weeks. I say that this lens provides a better image than the Canon.

But I am not sure why the 28-135mm lens is no longer made. It was a nice piece of glass.
It served me a a great walk around lens.
Another lens on my list is the 24mm Tilt-Shift lens. I will probably opt for a Rokinon since it is cheaper, but not by much.

The Sigma 24-105 f4 Art is a great lens, you will love it. Oddly I used it in all the locations you used your Canon 28-135 except for Terre Haute.

I'm 79-1/2 :). Don't forget the half.

That’s the problem with being 79, I forget everything and that’s not just the half of it.

Ah, the lament of specialty clubs — where are the young?

We are having the same problems with our local photography club and art league. Both are populated by the superannuated. And we also are trying to attract younger folks. But it is hard.

Why? Well, both spouses work. Since they both work, housework, chores, and errands are shared. Evenings and/or weekends they are chauffeuring the kids to all sorts of activities and practices (spare us the "in my day..." comments). Of course that also means they are hanging around these activities because they also have to get the kids back home. The bottom line is the young are already running their asses off just keeping up with life.

Think of it. How many folks put their hobbies aside until the kids leave home or retirement comes? I suspect it is an awful lot of us. I know that's how it has been for me. The RV waited until my daughter was in college. The boat waited until she was out of college. The camera waited until retirement. I am guessing a similar story can be told by many others.

My wife and I switched to Panasonic G9’s and now also OM-1s with a wide selection of PL & Olympus lenses and we are very pleased with the M4/3 system. The weight of this system is 45% lighter than my Nikon gear which I seldom used after switching to M4/3. I am hard pressed to tell which is which on direct comparison of photos between the systems when viewed on a monitor or TV. I only have a D500 & 500mm PF left from my Nikon system which I use for wildlife along with an Oly 300mm f4 & PL 100-400. IMO it is a great system with little downside.

My wife and me both have G9 cameras and love the way they handle and we find the travel photos they deliver excellent for our purposes. I recently purchased two OM-1 cameras for us to use with an Olympus 300 f4 and a Pano 100-400 version I for bird photography just before the G9II was announced so I’m somewhat interested for her as she does a lot of video. We will see how well the OM-1s do for her video before entertaining getting the G9II. The larger size but same weight of the G9II vs the G9 probably is not an issue for her. I can’t seem to bring myself to sell my Nikon D500 & 500 PF lens thus far, I just like it. And so It goes.
