New to photography I am using a D60 and trying to capture action shots of my soccer player and other players on the team. I only have a 18-55mm and a 55-200mm lense so I have a limit. I still shoot on auto/sport setting.

I seem to be able to stop the action and get some decent shots on bright days and late afternoon or early evening games.

How can I get more light and still stop the action to get shots on low light days or night games under the lights?
I have taken some very intresting action shot's myself. I also have a D60 It will take some pratice but by rasing your ISO you will get a cleaner shot.

I have the Canon 60 D and love it love it love it. But then, I started with Canons and had lens that were interchangeable. I have read and hear that Canon has a better variety of great lenses to choose from than Nikon, but I don't have any experience with Nikon's besides knowing that they are a good camera too. I have a friend who is a professional photographer that has a Nikon but wishes she started out with Canon's instead. Her camera takes great pictures but then so does mine. Still, I love my Canon...

I have talked with several Photographers before making my choice One has and uses a Nikon She told me with her camera she could interchange the old style lens which she could buy for a song. The only thing she needed to do were the adjustments before shooting. She actually steered me towards the Canon. The other Photographer has a $8,000 dollar pro Canon He also told me for the money I invested that I have one great camera. To tell you the truth it took me three months of study before I made my final decision. My next purchase will be a 75mm x 300mm lens for my 60D. All in all i'm glad that I bought the Canon and look forward to many hours of shooting Photo's

I'm seriously considering one or the other and would like to know which one you would pick and why? Does anyone have experience with one or the other? Please let me know your opinion.
Although eather camera will give you great shots I chose the D60 the main reason being the 18mp. You will find that eather camera in itself is a great walk around camera and will give you many hours of service and pleasure.

I just discovered the beauty of night shots. A friend who is a real Photographer turned me onto the idea after looking into one of his albums. I'm still working on the photos and I know I need a remote shutter to get the best responce. Any other Ideas will be appreaciated thanks and Semper Fi.

I use a hood from time to time to shade the lens from the effects of the sun my standard walk around lens is 67mm X 18mm X 135mm. The hood is an aftermaker foldable hood so I can leave it on the camera. Depending on the shot I sometimes get the following effect. I asked about this an have determined it was the cause of two things. 1. aftermarket design. 2. Telescoping in on the subject. I have ordered the proper lens fr my camera and should expect bettter results in the future.

You were right it is the aftermarket lens hood. since i have a 67mm x 18 mm x135mm when i zoom in on a subject at just the right sun angle it causes the effect.

I love pictures of children they can show so much innocence and sheer beauty. The first pic is perfect you have captured the essence of curosity. The sencond photo is nice also but needs to be a bit more centered. The third is probally the hardest to capture and infant smiling in a posed position good work.

Dear Cat. Thank you for being who you are. It's times like this that make's life hard for a Mother. But no matter what. You have Children that you can be very proud of. Just remember it's people like you and your Children who are the Heart and Soul of our great Nation. In the Marine Corps Cat we have a saying. It goes something like this "Their is no job harder in the Corps than being a Marine Mom". But you can also extend that trueism to the Mother's of anyone who serve. Like your neighbor I'm a Vietnam Veteran and I ask for nothing, but I appreaciate and pray for all those serve and have served everyday. Thank you cat for your Children and for being who you are.

the older the cemetery the better older monuments seem to tell better stories.

I find Cemetery’s a wonderful place to shoot. They are the last tributes we place on loved ones when they pass from this life. I also like Cemetery's because of the art and character they display I guess you could call it a Dark Beauty.
