Some good locations are cited above. My favorites are a) along Memorial Drive in Cambridge, shooting back across the Charles River b) along the Longfellow Bridge, c) from the roof of the parking deck at the Museum of Science (you can park for 30 min for free) d) if you like modern bridges, there is a park near the Zakim bridge where you can get some cool shots of the bridge and e) walking through Beacon Hill, the Boston Common, Coply Square, or along the downtown wharf.

Winthrop and Marblehead are also great places to shoot back at the city, sunrise or sunset.

I am going to watch your responses closely. My wife and I are going to visit Boston, Cape Cod and Portland, Maine for the first time in two weeks. I have asked the same question and have gotten some good suggestions. Stunning photo opportunities throughout the region. Coastal towns have the most to offer. Ogunquit, Portland, Cabbage Island to name a few. The same can be said for Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Rhode Island. If you enjoy sea food prepare yourself for an dinning experience. Nantucket is more condensed and historical. Cobble stone streets, rose lined walkways boarder code restricted homes and buildings to keep the setting of a old whaling village. Martha's Vineyard is more of a vacation town. It is spread out and not as historical. If you plan on bringing your camera, Nantucket is the place to be. Hope this helps and have a great
trip. I just remembered something else to do. Go on line and look up PhotoWalks Tour Of Boston. We are going to do the Waterfront Tour. $66.00 for the two of us. They have several different tours. We chose this one because it best fits our schedule.

I live in Connecticut and would suggest Mystic. It is a quaint sea town with lots to do - Mystic Seaport (1800's seaport), Mystic Aquarium, shopping, and restaurants. About 15 minutes away, in the middle of nowhere, is the huge Foxwoods Casino - a must see even if you don't gamble. I would also make sure to see Newport, RI (google for what is there). I don't know how far you are going, Boston is a defininte, the Maine coast is a must in the summer, Vermont and New Hampshire are also beautiful. PM me if you have specific questions.
