On a tripod you should also switch your Image stabilizer to OFF. Here is more info on that:

My name is Elfie and I live in Southern Alberta.
Since my retirement in 2005 I have been doing a lot of photography using Canon equipment. Some of the work was on a volunteer basis. Favorite subjects are wild life, horses, some street photography and macro.
