Glad to have you back, welshgypsy; lookin forward to your posting some images from your homeland.
I do remember visiting a gypsy encampment with an 7ncle on my great grandfather’s farm along the Susquehanna river near Bloomsburg, PA. during the war years. They had been returning every year but I think their last appearance was in ‘47 or ‘48. Among themselves they spoke a language that wasn’t English. Interesting, friendly, and enjoyable people - including the kids my age. I remember a kid about my age (then 7 years old) who could play a violin/fiddle along with the adults! They were a yearly part of life in that area for many years. Now only a few of us old-timers can recall them!
Best regards,
Dave

Hi Dave just to clear something up here. I am not on a gypsy encampment but my lifestyle has deemed me to be called a gypsy on many occasions
My husband and I work 8 months of the year on a caravan park living in a static caravan, We don't own a house anymore and become free spirits in the winter (this year being the exception due to obvious reasons) As we are getting older we may set down some roots in the near future but who knows
