I need a GOOD backup for my photo's, that is easy to use. I have a Buffalo 2TB external hard drive, and for the life of me can not figure out how to store or retreive my photo's. Some one told my external hard drives do not store photo's??? A suggestion was made to store on USB Flash memory sticks. Does anyone have a better suggestion. Also are some brand USB memory sticks better than others as far as picture quality?

I have 700MB stored on a Buffalo 2TB external hard drive. It does work for photos.

Ok....So you're retiring, and you get a nice little payout for all that vacation and sick time you've accumulated. You take a nice vacation with the spouse, but since you don't fish you don't need a bass boat. With the 10K you would have spent on a bass boat, what camera, lenses, and gear would you buy?

A D4 and the Zeiss Primes that fit it

I'm doing Arches and Bryce Canyon, too!

I can see it now...there sits jerryc41 in the livingroom on his sofa in front of his TV, Nikon D7000 mounted on a tripod aimed at the TV screen. snapping away !!!! Wait, here comes a mountain lion around the end table....... Oh, that's the cat !!!!!!

Between the tripod and the Pause button on the remote, all my shots will be "tack sharp."

Need suggestions on settings, please.

I've recently begun taking moon photos and while definitely not an expert, I have learned a few things. Your shutter speed will probably need to be faster than you expect. Also, a tripod is almost mandatory, especially with longer lenses. Getting as far away as possible from any local light sources and a higher altitude will also help a lot by reducing light contamination & atmospheric distortion. The ideal location would be from the top of Mt. Everest, as long as you could keep the camera warm enough to function properly.

Call Lensrental.com. Tell them what you are doing. Rent the outfit they recommend. Practice for a couple of days -- then decide

I am wounded military (1968 - you can figure out where). I don't have a problem with the rules set down by the school as long as they are applied to everyone. That's why I served for 22 years.
By the way did anyone think that the rule might be for the girl's protection? With all the current PC going on and the radical kick back, I wouldn't want my daughter's picture in the public domain either.
