I had a 1958 white XK-150 fixed head coupe. Sold it when I married, still have the wife, the car would be nice to have now but my Porsche 911 coupe and Mercedes CLK430 convertible are both better cars.
Yes, half a century of development ought to count for something, but that the Porsche and Merc. are more beautiful is at least debateable.
Is it OK to quote Churchill on this matter?
It seems he was right about Hitler . . .
Churchill on Islam:
“How dreadful are the curses which Mohammedanism lays on its votaries. Besides the fanatical frenzy, which is as dangerous in a man as hydrophobia in a dog, there is this fearful fatalistic apathy. The effects are apparent in many countries. Improvident habits, slovenly systems of agriculture, sluggish methods of commerce and insecurity of property exist wherever the followers of the Prophet rule or live. A degraded sensualism deprives this life of its grace and refinement; the next of its dignity and sanctity. The fact that in Mohammedan law every woman must belong to some man as his absolute property - either as a child, a wife, or a concubine - must delay the final extinction of slavery until the faith of Islam has ceased to be a great power among men. Thousands become the brave and loyal soldiers of the faith; all know how to die but the influence of the religion paralyses the social development of those who follow it. No stronger retrograde force exists in the world. Far from being moribund. Mohammedanism is a militant and proselytising faith."
With a mirror-less camera what has been insufficiently emphasised is the possibility, using cheap adaptors, of using and enjoying pretty well any old lens that comes to hand. I find this a great attraction.
If visiting the Western Islands of Scotland avoid all wickerwork.
Who, having invented the mirrorless digital camera, would have thought putting a mirror in the light path to be a good idea?
Perhaps she should get a job as a photographic model?(In her spare time, that is.)
Really excellent pictures.
It is your picture, but what is it of, the dog, or the clutter?
I feel cropping tight does more justice to the dog, whilst still showing the cosy proximity of the spinning-wheel and the chair.
But each to their own!
No3; effective, without shouting.
How anyone can consign the body of a loved one to rot rather than to help another person to live, is beyond my understanding.
Nice pic, but crop much tighter on her head.
If mirrorless had been invented first, would you pay extra to have a mirror and its box added?
Only advantage is if your real estate moves around a lot, otherwise use a tripod.
Very nice pictures, but I think the converging verticals are a bit of a distraction.
