Hi, I see that cell phone telephoto lens that is being pushed everywhere, including on this site, and being someone who likes gimmicks and gadgets, I am wondering if anyone on here has bought one and tried it out. Is it a piece of cheep plastic crap, is it something I can get decent telephoto shots with? Iā€™m sure it has its limitations.
Bill

It IS a piece of cheep plastic crap!!!

This is more geared to the beginners in film photography. Old, experienced film photographers, myself included, who have over 40+ years experience shooting film, tried almost every film available, at the time, until they found what they liked and stuck with it. This is a way to work with a film you like and concentrate on making it better. If I shoot film, I want to know the outcome before I click the shutter.

Agree with you (via the lens) and the moderator was wrong. You tried to express your OWN opinion, but seems that is not allow by the language police.

What airplanes are you interested in? Military, commercial or bush planes?

I am not in the market for purchasing gear, but instead need to start selling.

AzGriz, it is wonderful that someone else knows of this camera store!!! Thank you for sharing this tidbit about your doing business with them. I assume you were living in Anchorage? Do you have any old photographs that you would love to share of your Alaska adventures?

Do you still give them any business?

I lived there from '71 to '86 and had a business account with the Stewart's. Have several thousand Alaskan photos, both scenic and business, in color and black and white. Most of the color are transparencies in 35mm, 6 x 7 and 4 x 5. I haven't done business with them since I left in '86.

There is a store in Anchorage, Alaska that I give all my business to. The service is superb and their prices are the same as other places. The good news is that they never upsell you on gear you do not need, have an excellent knowledge of the various types of camera equipment and if they do not know something, they will find out. As a small business owner, I try and give my business to other small businesses and Stewart's Photo is my go to place. Hopefully, they will be in business as long as I am shooting.

I replied to your post but, I did not include your quote... Look back in the previous replies. Thanks

Stewart Photo. I bought my first Nikon camera from them in 1971. Thousands of dollars for darkroom materials and film by the brick. Sample day of wild Alaska meat (never did like the whale blubber). The Caribou tied up in front of the store. What fond memories of Mr. and Mrs. Stewart. Oh yeah, what about the amphibious car.

It's not the one your guy shows, but it's the one the residents call Snoopy. Here is another that is not in the publications. Lucy and Snoopy. The Mayor of Sedona petitioned the BLM to knock off part of the rock and they refused. Nature is as Nature is!

I don't know where you guys get your information, but it is wrong. That rock formation used to be called "Cock S....r Rock", but now is know more as "Clinton-Lewinsky Rock". The mayor has never tried to make the change, but a couple of "do gooder" environmentalist tried to "blow" it off with dynamite, but failed. (Pardon the pun)

One of the famous (to the residents) portrayals of Snoopy in Sedona

Wrong. Snoopy Rock is located below that formation. Your photo shows "Lucy" and "The Camel".
