I have a D3200 and have noticed that if the focus area is not well defined, it will not focus automatically. As an example trying to focus on a grey scale card on auto probably will not work.
I am pretty much computer illiterate, how do you load/access this info. I have Nikon d3100 and d3200.Thanks

Go to the visitors center in Moab, they have brochures that will give you suggested times (sunrise-sunset) for best photos in several areas of the Park . Make sure you take some of the trails, many are around a mile at the most and the walk is well worth it. I was there about 5 years ago and it was one of the most memorable times ever spent hiking and taking pictures.
This brings up a question. At our local county fair the rules stated that there must be a 2 3/4" mat on all pictures. When the secretary was questioned they stated that it was "industry standard". Has anyone heard of this "standard". I personally have seen everything from no mat to a 12x14 mat on a 4x6 picture.
Thanks to everyone for advice and reply to my post on using older flash. After considering all that was said, I think the safest and most practical thing is to just buy a new flash. There are several units that cost not much more than the "safe sync adapter" I have been looking at a Yongnuo 685 or 968 and the are around $100-120. Thanks again everyone...John
Need some advice from UHH members. I have a Vivitar 273 Flash from my film days, and I have been told that you cannot use them on digital cameras because of the higher voltage. I have heard about some kind of adapter that reduces the voltage so you can use it on a digital camera. Does anyone have any information or thoughts on this? Should I just buy a new flash? I hate to just "throw away" all of my old film stuff, but I want to be sure I can use it without damage Thanks...John
from Donegal you are only about 15 miles. If you get a chance next time you are there it is well worth the visit.
Thank You. Taken at Mill Run PA,just south east of Pittsburg.
