Thank you very much for all of your suggestions and comments. After not having any luck with my old printer, I decided to purchase a new one. I bought an Epson XP 15,000 and it fixed all of my problems. The colors come out exact from what I see on my screen. The only problem is now I’m going back and re-printing all of my photos from my previous printer as this printer is right on with the color.

I have wanted to start printing my photos for the house. I have an iMac and an Epson Artsian 837 all up to date. I downloaded the printer profiles for the printer to match the computer/printer combination. I also bought the Epson paper to match the profiles. I go through all the tabs in Lightroom to print to the correct size and colors, ICC profiles and make sure the printer controls the colors. I have calibrated my screen with a color profile application and tool. I try to print and every time the color come out wrong and I have now almost exhausted the new inks I have purchased. If anyone has any words of wisdom please let me know, I don’t want to have to keep sending my photos out to print. Thank you in advance.

Good morning, I have been a headshot photographer for many years and have also done parties, weddings and so on. I have never attempted to shoot holiday photos but I would like to add that to my services. I’m wondering if anybody here has experience in shooting holiday photos, and would maybe have any tips. I would be doing this in my home and would have room for a 7 x 10‘ backdrop, or I can just shoot on a green screen and superimpose it on it to a digital backdrop. I need props and if so does anyone have a resource to getting those props, and may be a good place to download digital files to superimpose my green screen photos. I know I’m asking a lot but I’m trying to do as much investigation work as I can, and possibly try to start this Christmas. Thank you all have an awesome day.

Yes, I would love to find out how I can get the white white background and the white plate and get everything separated to look nice and neat. If you have any words of wisdom for me I’m listening.

Thank you very much for all your information, just as I said this is the first time me ever trying this and yes this is what he’s looking for by putting it on his website he wants it just quick and clean and this is not really for the consumer per se, this is for my end hotels in bakeries that just really want to see the desert.

really looking for some lighting tips. shooting a food catalog five times a year and the client wants white on white background and foreground. Also using white plates, so trying to get the background white the foreground white and not blow out the white plate. I’ve done one session but had to go into Photoshop and tweak the back ground and the foreground and looking to possibly get away from that to make the post production go quicker.
Does anybody have lighting and camera setting tips that may help as I need to go back Wednesday and shoot the second round of the catalog? I am adding one photo so you can see what they’re looking for, and what I am up against.

Thank you all for your tips, I ended up purchasing: K&F Concept 94 Inch Camera Tripods 4 Section Aluminium Professional Detachable Monopod Tripod with 360 Degree Ball Head Quick Release Plate for DSLR SLR Cameras T254A8+BH-28L (SA254T1). The tripod worked awesome and I was able to keep the 45 photographs on the same angle the whole time by not only having a sturdier tripod, but we marked off the table to place the plates in the exact same spot for every shot. I will be heading back again next week to do the next round of photos for the catalog. I included couple of the shots so you can see what I’m talking about.

Buy a second tripod and leave it alone
That would be impossible, as I will have to go back five different times per year I can’t leave a tripod set up all that time in his business.

I will be shooting a catalog 5 times a year for a company. While shooting the catalog it is very important to have the same angle and height for each shot. Can anyone recommend a tripod that may have measurements on it to help with the process, but also does not cost $1000?

I’m shooting Christmas photos for a few families, they will be standing around a tree and sitting on the floor. It’s not my normal realm of photography so I just want to make sure I get the settings in the camera correct. I have a canon 5D Mark iii, 24-105 .4 and really looking for the best camera settings to get all of the participants in the photo sharp.

I have used my 70-200 2.8 for most of my Head Shots and have had great results. I’m now looking to upgrade my lens to possibly something @ a 1.4 or 1.8 to get that sharper look. I have done tons of research and reading on recommendations on the best lens to use and have lens overload. I would like to hear from anyone here that does Head Shots and what they use, also don’t want to “break the bank”.
