Three Aussie blokes working up on an outback mobile phone tower:

Mongrel, Coot and Bluey .

As they start their descent, Coot slips, falls off the tower and is killed instantly..
As the ambulance takes the body away, Bluey says, 'Well, bugger me, someone's gotta go and tell Coot's wife.

Mongrel says, 'OK, I'm pretty good at that sensitive stuff, I'll do it.'
Two hours later, he comes back carrying a case of Beer.

Bluey says, 'Where'd you get the grog, Mongrel?'

'Coot's wife gave it to me,' Mongrel replies.
'That's unbelievable, you told the Missus her husband was dead and she gave you a case of beer?'
'Well, not exactly', Mongrel says. 'When she answered the door, I said to her, "you must be Coot's widow."
She said, 'You must be mistaken.. I'm not a widow.' Then I said, 'I'll bet you a case of beer you are..'

Australians are good at that sensitive stuff. :)

You can edit JPEG's in Camera Raw in Elements 12 also. The menu is a little different than you state for 13. In 12 click on 'file' and one of the drop down options is 'open in camera raw', click that and then select your JPEG image. You could do the same in Elements 10. TNmike

Crewman, that would depend on your budget and your purpose.
My guess is always, if you have to ask, getting a FF is a pure waste of money! ;-)
SS

I've read all of the responses and the last sentence by SS is the best answer yet. "If you have to ask, getting a FF is a pure waste of money". :) I do have both FF and crop. TNmike

TNmike, thanks for the link. It really answered a lot of my questions.

Glad the video helped. I learned some things also. I've been debating on getting the 5DS, 5DSr, or waiting for the rumored 5dIV to go with my 5DIII. TNmike

B&H had a Live View discussion today that might be of some help. It might not be unbiased but has some info. Link Below. It's about 1 1/2 hour. TNmike

Great set Dennis! They look to be Great horned owls. I've been watching a pair that have taken over an abandoned eagle nest and have had a pair of little ones. Due to the distance and dense woods with limbs in the way it's very difficult to get any type of photo. The ones I'm watching look to be a little younger than the ones in your photos. TNmike

Canon is feeling the bite with unauthorized dealers right now so they've adjusted their MAP again. A couple of days ago BigValueInc had body only $1949.00

I don't think it's heat from the 5DS/R. It's a completely different animal & won't be released until June 2015.

That's interesting Haydon. I usually only watch prices from authorized dealers so didn't realize this. I agree that the 5D s/r are completely different animals. TNmike

I see that the Canon 5D MarkIII price has went down to $2499. I wonder if that is because of the upcoming release of the 5D s and 5D sr or if maybe a true replacement of the 5D III is in the near future? To me the 5D s and sr are not really replacements for the 5D III. TNmike

Nice shots! far sharper then most of mine!

I agree. This sharpness just doesn't happen with mine either. Seems to be one extreme or the other--really good or poor. TNmike

I think you missed the part where I stated that I tried to achieve consistent focus using single center point focus with unsatisfactory results. In a number of cases I was shooting structures that were large enough and high enough that nothing else was in the viewfinder. I also used every other focusing option I could find in the camera. I spent 3 weeks researching and shooting before sending the camera back. It may be that I am the one at fault, but, all things considered, I tend to think in this case that it is the camera that is screwed up. It happens.

LFingar, it seems that many don't believe you or think that you do not know how to operate the camera. But as a Canon 7DII owner I believe as I'm having the same issues. I like Swamp Gator kept my 7DII past the 30 return period. I would get an occasional good shot and thought it had to be operator error. I now have about 3000 shots on the camera using every possible focus option and probably have about 100-200 keepers using several different Canon L lens. I have even used a tripod and cable release with a well lit focus chart. I also have a Canon 7D and 5DIII and 5 Canon L lens from 16-35mm up to 500mm and am capable of getting good shots with any combination. My 7DII seems to have the same issues as yours. I have talked with Canon but have yet to send it in so I'm watching to see how you and Swamp Gator make out with your issues. TNmike

In Savannah lots of photo in the old river front area. It may seem odd or gross to some but don't miss Bonaventure Cemetery in Savannah. Endless photo ops there. Do a Google search and you will see thousands of photos from there. TNmike

I'm not sure where you heard that but both male and female mature eagles have the white head. They get the white head at maturity of about 4-5 years old. TNmike
