I have a Sigma 18-250 MM lens that is a great all around lens. Very sharp and can
be had from KEH and others (also from Sigma direct) for about half your budget.

Captain Al

I just ordered the Tamron 18-200mm as a replacement for the Sigma 18-250mm (to shoot the eclipse).

Thanks for suggesting the Tamron 18-200mm. The Sigma is now available if someone is interested.
Purchased Jan 15th, 2017 and really like new.

As of 8/7/17, 9:37am EDT - this deal is for the DVD package.

Thanks to all for suggesting this. Upgrading from PSE/PE 13.

If you find a lens that can use a TC, consider the Kenko 1.4. I use one on my Nikon.

Agree on the Kenko 1.4. Just picked one up on a B&H recommendation and works very well between my Nikon D5300 and 300mm f/4 AFS.

Well, I've had good results with it. I'm at PSE 13 and would like to upgrade. Is their an upgrade price, without having to purchase the entire new package, that you're aware of?

Thanks.

Agree, it's not the cost. Still on the fence since I use a comprehensive photo database (ThumbsPlus).

I'm still wondering if LR provides any more *adjustment* capabilities over PSE and/or Affinity.
Been trying to find that out.

Thanks for your input.

Just wondering. Does anyone else who shoots with a Nikon use the View NX2 program that comes with the camera in tandem with Nikon Capture? Even though I have Photoshop and Lightroom, I find that these 2 programs which work together do just about everything I want/need for my editing. Just wondering.

I use View NX2 consistently. After I import a series of raw photos, I open VNX2 and it displays a row of the images along the bottom.
Even if I don't perform any editing, I File Convert to either TIFF or JPG and save them as such.

I'm still toying with Affinity and PSE15 and agree - don't see the need for LR at this point, mainly due to having View NX2.
