Any one know of a good repair place that doesn't charge an arm and a leg? I would appreciate any help.
Have you tried Tamron website? Is your lens under warranty? I have had but one experience with them for service and it was more than satisfactory. Similar to your situation and I sent the lens in with the form downloaded from the service site. It was totally gone through with one outer piece replaced, cleaned and calibrated for no fee. I expected to get a call for payment details, instead received an email stating what was going to be performed and that there was no charge. Best of luck to you. Here is a link to the service page.

If anyone installs the Nik Collection on a Windows 7 system and cannot find the files, this is where the default installation sends the collections.
Thank you all for the warm welcomes. This place looks to have some quality members.
After viewing the uploads here and then downloading Image01 back, I see crap files. In Lightroom's 2nd window, the images have none of the bright noise evident on this web page. So this is a test to check how adding sharpen in export effects the images. Also wondering what this site does during an upload to it.
Any comments or thoughts on this aspect?
Thanks for your responses. Image02.5 then, will do.
Image02 was all manual adjustments in LR and Image03 was "auto WB and exposure" buttons in Elements (ACR), and auto button in Nik Dfine.
There are many times when I think I have gone overboard but with this image, it looks to me like the auto went further yet. The truth is, both processed images look more saturated than what was seen through the viewfinder.
Here is what the drop down looks like in LR6. See that it includes Nik programs, although they are not listed as "Nik".
Yeah, I did not see it in programs either. It does show in PS Elements though. I was able to try the Dfine with an image opened in Elements, a box with direct linking was on the desktop in Elements when opening the file.
Still young to digital photography and post processing.
Exported from LR, "Image01" which is straight from the camera w/lens correction and cropped.
Using LR6 to make adjustments and exported "Image02".
Using Elements and Nik-Dfine to make adjustments and exported "Image03".
Thoughts on the post processing?
