Nice photo but you might try a vignette which will make a difference that may please you?
Who needs a 5d3?

I agree with the last comment. The LUMIX top on the range pockets have given me some of my best shots when i have not got my Canon with me. I always carry one and quite a lot on the pics on my site have been the the Lumix. Bet you won't spot the difference?

Sounds like under exposing? Try shooting RAW, use A P minimum if you are not comfortable with full manual, use bracketing technique, and then you will have more control in Raw conversation. You can then carry out final editing in photoshop or elements

I always shoot RAW colour, the convert in Lightroom. I find i get as good if not better control over toning this way

Great, now a nice picture. Can i be cheeky and suggest a little vignette to enhance a good shot further?

If you are a pro or semi pro landscape or portrait photographer and you can really use a camera, then it will be extremely beneficial to your end results.
If you are an enthusiastic amateur and want to move up from the basic digi SLR, i would go for a Canon 7d or similar.
But i always remind my self that the that the very best photographs start in the eye & mind and all the expensive cameras and lens will never change that.

Would have improved the shot had you straightened the sky line
