Last month I purchased both the Canon S95 and the Panasonic Lumix DMC-LX5 (previously had the LX3 -wonderful camera). Kept the LX5 and returned the S95. I believe Panasonic has overtaken and now surpasses Canon with their P&S cameras.

Thought the IQ was better on the Panasonic Lumix LX5 (partially due to the leica lens), but mostly the S95 was just too small for my liking. Difficult to hold...no molded grip... was just like a square bar of soap.

Well... mostly use P&S cameras. Used to be all Canon, but now only have one Canon and Three Panasonic Lumix... the DMC-FZ47, DMC-LX5 and the DMC-Zs8. I say mostly, because I have a DSLR used exclusively for nighttime soccer under the lights, as my son coaches a H.S. soccer team and P&S will not work.

Why ask permission? Any enhancements don't affect the originating party's photo.... just shows there's room for additional improvement.

I'm sure you notice all the Apple computers on desks in the movies, TV shows etc. There's a reason for that beyond marketing. Hollywood simply loves the Mac.

If you can't or don't want to put a lot of expense into your slides and negatives, consider the wolverine scanners for less than $100. I sent nearly 3000 slides to ScanCafe and was not especially impressed and it took them almost three months. About a year ago and found some additional slides and 35mmnegatives and bought the "blue" wolverine and could not believe how easy it worked and feel I got just as good quality scans as ScanCafe gave me. I love it and even plan to rescan some of the ones that were done professionally just to compare. Just
google wolverine scanner. I have no connection with them, just a very happy user. You don't even have to connect it to a computer during scanning... it uses SD media cards which you could later download to your computer.

Another thing..... I've seen people trying to re sell their camera for more than they paid for it.... Redicous...

Why not if you get an especially good price for a popular camera and you decide to sell while it is still in demand? I just bought a Canon S95 for $229 through the Amazon one-day "gold-box deal". If I don't prefer it over my relatively new Lumix LX5 I might sell it for a slight profit. That's the law of "supply & demand". Couple weeks ago I sold a Lumix TZ5 for more than I paid 2-3 years ago because I got a great price with the old bing discount. My equipment is always pristine. Of course, I realize some folks are absurd in their expectations...like a homeowner who puts an unrealistic price on their home because of their emotional attachments.
