Birdpix, Thank you, thank you, thank you.
Two Great Horned Owls showed up in a local preserve last year. One began testing its hunting skills. I think they were recently fledged from a close by nest.
The one landed in the tall grass for a few seconds then emerged, regretfully, with nothing to show for its efforts but a little practice.
I was the lucky one. It all happened so fast.
Thanks for looking Bill. They started getting a little more curious with me the longer I was there.
MadMikeOne, Thanks for looking and the kind words . My first post here.
A visit to Viera Wetlands in the late spring showed most of the migrating birds gone. I did bump into a pair of Sandhill Cranes and their colts though.
It is pretty heavily cropped.
A beautiful photo!
I grew up in Manchester (by the Sea) and never have seen this before. The next time I visit I will make it there.
Thanks Boone, I enjoyed the video and downloaded the e book. My questions are being answered. I really needed this info.
I have 2 books that I no longer use. They are: An 8.5"x11" spiral bound copy of Nikon's D800/D800E User's Manual (in English) and David Busch's
Guide to Digital SLR Photography Nikon D800/D800E.
If anyone would like them (both) I will USPS them to you (US delivery only). You can PM me with information.
Thanks.
Mike
The two books
I have used this RRS link which suggests PHIL Waterproof grease and it has worked well for me.

Outstanding Greenland shots.
Wow,
It looks very much like the Roosevelt Bridge in Stuart way south of Titusville.
Still a nice shot.
Jackndback,
Nice shot of the Roosevelt Bridge. Was it taken from the Pelican Restaurant end?
I think you did a great job with the composition (maybe a little tilt as was mentioned before) and the HDR too. I love Photomatix. What part of Massachusetts was it in? I'm heading to Worcester from Florida to see what I can find in the way of fall foliage.
It would be on my wall too.
Chris,
I think the place you are referring to is Blowing Rocks Preserve on Jupiter Island.
I will paste a link to a site that can be useful for finding many nice spots.
Search Blowing Rocks and it will come up.
Living not far from there I, of course, have not been there for any photography endeavors...yet.
I hope this helps.
