Just curious. Since we have quite a few members from Florida, has anyone seen any of these birds? I read in the paper that they have been sighted around the Merritt Island area as well as Pasco County. The annual bird count is next weekend and they expect to include this bird in their count. I have yet to see one.

Maybe they're waiting for their introduction next week?

Larry we had two Razorbills on the Merit Island Bird Count on Decemeber 19th, don't know if they are still being seen. I looked for them up by Ormond on Christmas day and didn't see any, the ones at Merit where out past the surf sitting in the swells and quite visible even without a spotting scope, black obove, white below and pointed tail. Good luck.

Wife and I went to Wall Springs Park this afternoon with hope of a picture or two. No luck. Got home and read in the paper of sightings a few miles North of us. We are just South of Tarpon Springs.

Oh, well, I'll keep trying. Thanks for your comment.

Your first two images are of a legless lizard, which is not a snake, and not too common.

Thanks, I've lived here over thirty years and was not aware of that. Goes to show, you can still learn at any age.

So show me your very best RED...repeats are welcome if they are your favorites.
Any red will do...you can frame it in red, sign it in red, make it red....or have red in it of course.
Here are some of mine made today

How about this?

I've been sharing my hobby of photography with my wife. She is trying to get her head around the exposure triangle and doing a great job of it. She is probably the only person alive that will try to shoot hand-held at 1/10 of a second and do a good job of it. Not a problem today when we walked out the front door and this confronted her. She wouldn't look through the view-finder let alone stand still for a tenth of a second.

Guest - I think it's smiling!

Yup, looks like it

She didn't like this either

Two pictures that I discovered something in. The first is a group of birdhouses I took and when blown up the one in lower left has an occupant. The other is a quite beautiful shade of purple I did not know was on the bird!

Hi Larry, was the occupant of that lower left bird house a little lizard? Funny. Cheers.

Yup!

Thank you, this was taken the same day. I just thought the wing shot was different.

Bird houses were shot in my neighborhood, around the corner and the duck at Wall springs Park near Palm Harbor, FL. I posted some pictures of the park about a week ago.

Thanks,

Where I run into a problem is when I copy a picture to a new project folder. My computer then lists duplicates of the JPG, but in different locations.

If you use a program like Picassa, it will scan your hard drive and include the duplicate in a new file.

If I move instead of copy, Lightroom has difficulty locating the original file.

Solution for me is to monthly run duplicate finder program and hand delete files I no longer need. I find these programs serve a purpose when used in this manner but should not be used for mass deletions.

Yea Larry I think it's a matter of personal choice. Frankly I'd like to see the photo with no filters in it's natural state. Looks like a lovely scene to me.

Okay. First is out of camera and second is IR converted to B&W (attempt, I should say). It does show more detail in highlights.

I thank everyone for their input. I delete a lot of photos because of poor lighting, composition and so on, but I guess this shows that much is in the point of the viewer.

Again, thank all,
Larry
