So, what lens(es) do you prefer for this type of photography? And what camera setting serves you best?

Thanks again. Think I'll go back to my 28mm.

I bought a Sony A33 DSLR because all my old Minolta lenses fit. And it's a very good camera to boot.

Leica, No. The Red Dot makes them cost prohibitive. Wonder how they get by with their prices for cameras that are marginally, if at all, better than Canon, Nikon, Sony, et. al. Maybe it'd the 1% group.

Yes, Eric Kim is darned good. I like his work. Thanks.

I have one or two overriding concerns: 1) I usually us a 28mm / 70mm, but it's a bit bulkier than a fixed focal length lens like my 28mm or 50mm. So I'd like to know what size lens most Street photographers use? 2) While I have my camera with most of the time, I usually keep it in "Automatic" mode (no flash) just to be ready for the unexpected. Aperture priority is my favorite, but adjusting often takes valuable time. I'd appreciate hearing from anyone/everyone. Thanks

I can't say for sure if ALL Minolta lenses fit Sony DSLR's, but my lenses were use on my Minolta Maxxum AF film camera. You want to check out the we site that follows: www.kenrockwell.com/sony/a55.htm

Most authoritative source would be to call the folks at B&H in NYC at: 800.606.6969 / 212.444.6615

I agree with you, even though I'm a bit Left of center. The only answer is term limits for all elected Congressional positions. It would solve a multitude of problems. Maybe even an age limit on the Supreme Court Justices. But these changes will never happen, I'm sure, because the "rules" are made by Congress.

Hello, I'm Tom G. I'm retired and glad to be among other photography enthusiasts, amateurs and professionals. My experience has been mainly with film so I'm just getting started again. I now have a Sony A 33 DSLR, which accommodates all my old Minolta lenses. I am particularly interested in Street Photography, and would appreciate hearing from others who have the same interest.
