Jerry: Just to clarify; the old style CPR is not "passe". The compression-only CPR was developed as an easy to learn system for the average person and works well. In our area it is called Take 10, due to how quickly it can be learned, and is quite often taught by first responder organizations such as the one I belong to. The "old style" CPR is still used. I thought this to be an important distinction for those who may read this topic.

edazz; good question. I don't have my homeowners ins. with State Farm(but have car ins, with them) and, living in a rural area I have farm mutual that I won't give up as they have been great in the past and the cost is very competitive. So, will State Farm cover only camera equipment and/or guns? Years ago I had a laptop insured with State Farm on a stand-alone policy. Cost: $30 a year for #3,500 of coverage.

I always count my change before leaving the cash register area. Never been short changed, but have been given too much back. And, yes, I did give the excess amount back.

Very inspiring. Hope the kids growing up now will sometime understand what their ancestors did for all of us.

It was a great sacrifice what they did (and do) for mankind and our freedoms. No greater honor has ever been earned than by those who served

I pray that we never forget those that accomplished what they did.

Great cars. Shame they went out of business. learned to drive in a 1952 commander: 289 v-8 if I remember correctly, three speed on the tree with over drive.
Had a friend that had a mid to late 50's Golden Hawk supercharged. I don't think he ever lost a street drag unless the supercharger was malfunctioning. Lived in the Rio Grande Valley, Texas. Very humid; played havoc with supercharger. Only one mechanic in the valley knew how to work on the that particular supercharger, so friend had to take it to Harlingen once a year to be cleaned and calibrated.

Thanks for the pictures. Brings back good memories.

Did that bring back memories or what?

A really innocent time.
Little League and Pony League,
A little pickup baseball. (basketball wasn't a big sport where I came from.)
Late in 50's sneaking across the river to a border town in Mexico, where you could have beer, etc., when you were in your teens; as if our parents didn't know (right!)
Going to the car dealership and peeking through the tape on the window to see what the new cars looked like.
A time when we were raised to respect the fairer gender; not even cussing in ear shot of them.
So much more.

With all due respects this sounds like the same old liberal global warming mantra.

The person that wrote about the subject in the link is not entirely accurate. I believe if he would check he would find that there are presently on 6 states that do not allow some kind of open carry. This has come up in testimony in my state.

What's with the PS; you might want to remove the "s"? If it it works which it has for me with or without the "s", what difference does it make?

Speaking of lenses; Nikon has VR & Non-VR.
Can the non pro really tell a difference? There really good bundle deals out there w/20-55 non-VR with 55-200 non-VR lenses. I am looking at the D3200 or D5200 & would have pay a fair amount more for VR.

Could I mention Cameta camera? Bought 3 cameras from them & got very good advice. Also, their warranty on refurbs is one year; same as new with reasonably priced extended warranties

please use "Quote Reply"........
Don't we have enough political correctness is this world?

Didn't bother me when Quote Reply was used by Yorkslass. Saves time and if someone didn't read the person's name it was meant to answer then maybe they need new glasses.

My two cents worth.

David Pine and Mr. PC.
Noticed you all said you were from the Austin, Tx. area. I live just east of Austin in Travis County.
Do either of you belong to a camera club in Austin? Or would you recommend one. (I went to one of the Shutterbug meetings in Austin, but felt ignored; no members introduced themselves, said hi, nothing. I saw another attendee get the same treatment).
I have just gotten back into photography as an amateur after a 30 year lapse. Consider myself a serious amateur; at least, I think of myself as one.
Any suggestions on a club that fits the knowledge level of an amateur?

BTW, Mr. PC, I have 2 P520's, but have been looking into the D5200 and D5300 as well as the D3200 and D3300. Kind of lean towards the 5000 series. Imput would be appreciated.

Well, it looks like I managed to post my pictures; but, last reply didn't go through or I am still rusty at this. Thanks for the advice. Trying to work on exposure and composition. Really interested in B&W and have seen others post some great ones. Critiques on the ones I posted would be appreciated. Always a learning process. Thanks.
