This is my great grandfatherβs pocket watch, presented to him in 1873 by the good folk around the Black Lane area of Radcliffe, Lancashire (UK) after five and a half years service as a policeman. It very nearly went out of his direct family line after the death of my brother a couple of years ago but after much persuasion it is now in my care for a while. I shall ensure it passes to one of my grandchildren before I pop off. Alongside it in my brothers trinket draw was another pocket timepiece date 1813 about which I know nothing. I hope to get permission to research that one.

I am glad you got to keep this in the family magnetoman, I have a couple that are engraved and think it would be good if they could be re united with the family's concerned
