I think the quality of my photos have improved since I have started to limit myself to 24 - 36 shots per outing, like my film shooting days. Maybe 20% are keepers, 10% I would be comfortable posting here. In the past, I would come home with hundreds and question why I took many of them. Question 2. I like being able to do minor editing and being able to share instantaneously with my children who live in different parts of the country.

This is my first HDR attempt. I used Photomatix software and PSE to straighten. My camera, D300, is my first DSLR. Unless I am misinterpreting something, it appears my bracketing is limited to increments of .3, .7 or 1.0 exposure values over the number of exposures selected. I question this because it seems that most HDR I've seen here have been +/- 2.0 exposure values. This photo was 5 exposures at 1.0, I think that's the proper way to express it.

If you shoot five @ 1.0, you should get +2, +1, 0, -1 & -2. Select # 1,3, & 5. I have a D300-- and you can select, 3,5,7, & 9 for your AEB. This gives you plenty to work with.

It's very clear now that you explained but last night I wasn't making the connection. Thanks for your insight.

I took this with a D300 and Tokina 11 - 16 f2.8. Only second time out with the camera, first with the lens.

I copied your data just to check things out. I love your composition. Real nice picture. I would crop out the boat if it were mine. It's a too small to add and it's not the main subject. Keep up the good work. David

David, Thank you for checking, I will try it with the boat cropped out. Joe
