Hello everyone. I am new but this is a second post, the other was much more abstract. This one is more straight forward but it is somewhat over processed due to the fact that when I went up to Boise, where I grew up, there was smoke from forest fires all over the west and it just ruined my photo plans. Nevertheless, I think this one is quite nice and the smoke is not so noticeable. I did have to over crop it though, but hopefully, people will enjoy it.

You exceeded the 20 MP download size so it only put up a link. If you reduce it a bit it should post. Because another forum I used to post to had a max size of 2048 on the long axis I got in the habit of using that as my size when I export from LR to post on the UHH.

Thank you robertjer, I wasn't aware any of my files were that large, but it is highly processed, so I guess it is.

I hope I am doing this right and getting it into the right topic. I have read the instructions but may have misunderstood something. If I get this in the wrong place I will apologize and try to learn better how to act properly.

Anyway, most of my pictures are straight forward with minimal processing, but some are somewhat abstract. I hope to introduce a more abstract one right now, and go from there. This picture is posterized, I normally don't do that. I will put nature pictures on soon.

Well, it doesn't seem to be working. The picture did come up on a separate page but does not seem to be attached to this file. I will try again later.

When I first started I liked to over process. What I found out was that often what looks good on a computer screen does not look good on an actual print. I highly saturated. Now I do not saturate, usually, but I find I can do the same thing only better by using the clarity control in lightroom, or just slightly increase the contrast. Too much of a good thing is really too much, but a lot depends on context and what you want to do as well.

i myself like the blue. I like this photo just the way it is, but another thing that I think could be done if one wanted to, would be to deepen the blue, and increase the white. Maybe, maybe not, but it is great just the way it is. Of course, blue is my favorite color so I am biased.

This site looks very interesting. I am not a professional photographer but have sold just a few pictures through stock agencies. I use lightroom and photoshop even though I don't know a lot about them. I have played around with it and gotten a lot of what I think are great pictures by accident. I am looking forward to learning more and being a participant in this site as much as possible, hopefully being a good member and useful to other members, although I don't know a lot. As soon as I figure out how to upload pictures, I will put a few out here.

I have been looking at the site for several days now and have decided it is really a nice place. I am extremely busy, for an old retired man, so cannot be here all the time.

Anyway, I have really enjoyed the pictures I have seen on this forum. Thank you, everybody.
