I got a chuckle out of Goering's observation as noted in Wikipedia's article on the Mosquito:

"Göring himself had strong views about the Mosquito, lecturing a group of German aircraft manufacturers in 1943 that:
In 1940 I could at least fly as far as Glasgow in most of my aircraft, but not now! It makes me furious when I see the Mosquito. I turn green and yellow with envy. The British, who can afford aluminium better than we can, knock together a beautiful wooden aircraft that every piano factory over there is building, and they give it a speed which they have now increased yet again. What do you make of that? There is nothing the British do not have. They have the geniuses and we have the nincompoops. After the war is over I'm going to buy a British radio set – then at least I'll own something that has always worked.[107]"
I got a chuckle out of Goering's observation as no... (show quote)

I had never heard that quote on the Mosquito. Thank you for sharing.

I did not know there were any air worthy Mosquitoes left. Its amazing what was done with a pair of Merlins and some plywood. Drove the Germans crazy. Good work!

When you shoot film there's no issue with camera damage. I shot a roll of Kodak Ektar 100 135 with 600 mm lens. I will post when developed. We were at 93.5% total.

Well, I couldn't find an Ektar 100 preset, but using ON1 Photo Effects, I used the B&W filter, applied the Kodak® Tri-X 400 grain filter, goosed a few values, and here's the result. Actually, this is an exported result, as the file ON1 created was 17.1Mb...

Now I really like that.

WTF, moron? Got your feelings hurt? Go give mommy a hug and sit in her lap and cry awhile. You'll feel better when your tantrum is over, snow flake.

No, but you obviously did.

This is very cool! Everyone so far has agreed the B&W is the favored rendering.

Back in my college days, I shot almost exclusively B&W (oh, how I loved Kodak Tri-X 400!). I think I have software that will let me process the image much like @DaveC1 suggests...

Thanks, everyone!

My apologies for not answering the question. Yes I do prefer the B&W.

Okay, this started as a tin type? or something from further back like a ambrotype or a daguerreotype I do like what looks like a "plague" mask.

Very nice, I particularly like the second one down. You captured all the step leaders off the main discharge path.

That's one of those that would have benefited from being shot with Kodak Ektar 100 film, IMO, or processed to look like it.

Remember the White House was guted and redone during the Truman administration, so any photos from earlier would not match present conditions.
