Thank you all.... right place at the right time!
The Blue Angels have after-burners and Pelicans have something that is not quite as effective (sorry if you thinks it's gross) but functional. I now wear a cap on the beach! :-)
Another shot of pelicans appearing to "show off"! And much less noise than the Blue Angels! :-)
Interestingly, this malformed/wounded wing did not appear to impair it's flying whatsoever!
On a beach in Kiawah, South Carolina this summer, shooting from a 3rd floor balcony, I was fortunate to be able to photograph numerous pelicans flying by in an updraft. They were extremely graceful and a couple were in such a tight formation I thought they may be trying to put on a show... beautiful to watch!
Nikon D7200, shooting in RAW at 1/500, f8, ISO 400 and 5 frames/second with an 18-300 zoom.
Great shots and love that area, during the summer! :-)
I went from the D300 to the D7200 and couldn't be more pleased. In my opinion it would be like comparing a smart phone from 2008 (the D300) to a phone from 2015 (the D7200). The improvements are too numerous to mention here. I purchased the 18-300 f3.5-6-3 as my walk around lens and, with few exceptions, am very pleased with the sharpness. In low light situations shooting at ISO 800-1600 results in minimal graininess - and the focus is really fast.
Thank you! Enjoyed trying!
Thank you! This is the first time I have submitted photos and I should have allowed for download on the post- not as sharp as I would have liked - next time! :-) But it sure was fun taking these with my telephoto zoom and 5 frames per second!
I am fortunate to have this as my backyard facing west. The sunsets, especially on a calm evening with high tide, can be stunning!
Thank you! Right place at right time!
I was on Kiawah Island near Charleston, SC this summer and the pelicans were soaring along the beach by the condo we had rented... beautiful to watch!
I tried the Wolverine Super for about $100 and returned it as I was disappointed with the quality - of both the scanner and the digital images - and returned it. If I can can afford it, I will use a professional service and be more selective in the slides I convert. I have 4000+ slides.
I like your sense oh humor! :-)
